'Doo Man' Farmer Headlines Card May 21 In Springfield, VA!

Boxing returns to the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA on Saturday, May 21 for a Left Hook Promotions card beginning at 7 PM.

Headlining the card will be Fort Valley, VA welterweight Andrew "The Doo Man" Farmer who will make his return after an almost two-year absence.  Farmer will take on veteran Joseph "Trouble" Figueroa of the Bronx, NY in an eight-round encounter.  Farmer (18-3, seven KO's) has not fought since being stopped by Danny O'Connor in the fourth round in October of 2014 in Plymouth, MA.  Figueroa (11-58-5, three KO's) makes his second straight visit to the ABC Sports Complex.  Figueroa lost a four-round unanimous decision to Stevie Weimer on April 9.  Figueroa will try to break a five-bout losing streak.

The card will also mark the return of Front Royal, VA cruiserweight Terry "T-Brick" Roy who will battle Earl "The Bull" Platt of Virginia Beach, VA for the vacant Virginia State Cruiserweight title.  Roy (8-2-2, seven KO's) has not fought since winning a four-round stoppage over Benito Fernandez in February of 2012 in Winchester, VA.  Platt (4-2, three KO's) last fought in May of 2014 and lost a four-round unanimous decision to Lamont Capers in Dover, DE.

Fort Valley junior welterweight Matthew "Boogieman" Bowling will be in a four-round contest  Bowling (1-0, one KO) made his pro debut on March 12 and scored a first-round TKO over Dwayne Lee in Roanoke, VA.

Also scheduled to be on the card will be debuting Strasburg, VA middleweight Dominick Lubrano who will take on the equally debuting James Smith as well as Baltimore middleweight Donald Wallace who will make his pro debut. Other bouts are scheduled to be added to the card.
