Seven Beltway Amateurs Advance To Finals of National Silver Glove Championships!

Seven local amateurs have moved into today's championship session of the National Silver Gloves Championships in Independence, MO.

Ragahleak Bartee of DC won his semifinal bout in the Boys Intermediate Open, 12-13, 76-80 pound division, defeating Barrick Wilson of Cleveland, OH.  Bartee will face Randy Canaday, Jr. of St. Louis, MO in the finals.

DC's Stacey Selby advanced in the Boys Intermediate Open, 12-13, 113-119 pound class with a victory over Lance Xiong of Hugo, MN.  Selby will meet Jose Ibarra of Shafter, CA in today's title bout.

In the heavyweight division, Dontae White of Parkville, MD won his bout in the Boys Junior Open, 14-15 class, defeating Shaquan Cox of Flint, MI.  White will take on Shohruhjon Murtazoev of Brooklyn, NY in the championship contest.

Benjamin Johnson of Silver Spring, MD defeated Bobbie Pettigrew of Brooklyn, NY to move into the finals of the Boys Bantam Open, 10-11, 76-80 pound class title bout.  Johnson will face Samuel Contreras of Palmdale, CA.

DC's Cardarius Johnson won his semifinal contest in the Boys Pee-Wee Open, 8-9, 51-55 pound division, defeating Lain Sellers of Lafayette, LA.  Johnson will take on Jair Aguilar of Las Vegas, NV in the finals.

Lorenzo Simpson of Baltimore, MD defeated Juan Vazquex of Omaha, NB in the semis of the Boys Junior Open, 14-15, 157-165 pound class.  Simpson can make history as he goes for his sixth straight national title in his sixth weight class as he faces Alexsis Espino of Las Vegas today.

Jelani Hill of DC makes his first appearance in the Silver Gloves as he takes on Demarko McKinstry of Cincinnati, OH in the finals of the Boys Pee-Wee Open, 8-9, 86-90 pound division.
