Tyrieshia Douglas has lost a 10-round unanimous decision in her bid to win the IBF Flyweight title from champion Leonida Yudica Friday night in San Juan, Argentina.
Douglas seemed to be forcing the action, backing up the champion throughout the contest. However, Douglas did not land a lot of telling blows as Yudica was able to avoid getting hit with big shots. Yudica seemed to get a lot of credit for her defense as she was not very offensive-minded during the contest.
Douglas lost by scores of 96-94 (twice) and 97-93. The loss was the first of her career and she is now 9-1, four KO's. Yudica remains undefeated at 10-0-3.
