Johnson Stopped In Seven In Chicago!

Oxon Hill, MD light heavyweight Alexander "The Great" Johnson has been stopped in the seventh round by undefeated Artur Beterbiev of Montreal, Canada tonight at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL.  The bout was nationally televised by Spike TV.

If you believe in moral victories, than Johnson achieved a measure of one as he went farther than any of Beterbiev's previous opponents.  No other Beterbiev opponent had made it past the fourth round.

However, Beterbiev's power proved to be the difference as he knocked Johnson down twice in the fifth round and twice more in the seventh before the bout was stopped at 1:38.  Johnson is now 16-3, seven KO's while Beterbiev remains perfect at 9-0, nine KO's.
