GARY RUSSELL, JR. CAPTURES WBC FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!

Congratulations to "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr. , the brand new WBC Featherweight champion of the world!

Russell scored a fourth-round TKO over Jhonny Gonzalez of Mexico to capture the title in front of a nationally televised (Showtime) audience at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.

The Capitol Heights, MD native dropped Gonzalez late in the third round with a blistering right hook and then finished the job with two knockdowns early in the fourth, forcing referee Tony Weeks to stop the contest at :37.

Russell is now 26-1, 15 KO's while Gonzalez is now 57-9, 48 KO's.

Also on the card, Bedford, VA super middleweight Scott "Cujo" Sigmon lost an eight-round unanimous decision to J'Leon Love.  Sigmon drops to 24-7-1, 13 KO's while Love's record rises to 19-1, 10 KO's.
