Two Beltway Boxers made short work of their opponents tonight at the House of Blues in Boston, MA, notching first-round TKO's.
In a swing bout that appeared on Fox Sports 1 tonight, DC heavyweight Danny "Smooth" Kelly (left) used a strong right hand to drop Bethlehem, PA's Eric "Black Steel" Newell and stop him at 2:45 of the first.
With the win, Kelly remains undefeated at 6-0-1, five KO's. Newell drops to 7-3-2, two KO's.
Earlier in the evening in a non-televised bout, Upper Marlboro, MD lightweight Lamont Roach, Jr. scored his first pro knockout as his opponent, Miguel Antonio Rodriguez of Philadelphia, PA could not come out for the second round. Roach, Jr. is now 2-0, one KO. Rodriguez is 1-7.
Team Kelly would like to give a special thanks to Gary Russell the man who made this possible.

Daryl
Gary I saw on boxrec and boxingscene.com that Roach's opponent was 6-3 now 6-4, not 1-7
ReplyDeleteYou might want to look at that again. The guy was Miguel Antonio Rodriguez and he was indeed listed at 1-6, now 1-7.
