Johnson Loses Unanimous Decision in Montreal!

DC light heavyweight Alexander "The Great" Johnson (shown with trainer Darryll Tyson) dropped a 10-round unanimous decision to undefeated Eleider "Storm" Alvarez of Montreal, Canada tonight at the Bell Centre in Montreal on a Showtime Extreme Network telecast.

Johnson's lack of power was evident in the contest as he couldn't keep Alvarez from landing shots.  Alvarez dropped Johnson with a right hand in the fifth round.  Johnson stayed in the contest but didn't have enough offense to turn the tide. All three judges scored the contest, 97-92.

Johnson's record is now 15-2, six KO's.  Both of Johnson's losses have come on Showtime broadcasts.  Alvarez remains undefeated at 15-0, eight KO's.

Later tonight on Showtime, Salisbury, MD middleweight Fernando Guerrero challenges David Lemieux of Montreal for the vacant NABF Middleweight title.

  2. Johnson had no stomach problem this time. He told show time he lost before be cash his dad passed away a couple days before. His stepdad that is. That's not important as to who has the role of dad but that isn't why he lost. Then he says he has better team now. That's BS because he had a great team. They got him to 12/1(5kos). He's nothing but a sparring partner and his previous trainer knew that also. He has some very feminine ways to be a fighter.

  4. Al fought a good fight,I think it should've been a split decision.. Also I think Al should've thrown more right hooks to the body then head & circle the man to his right but he would've needed a KO anyway fighting him in Canada but keep your head up Al get back in the gym & dedicate yourself to this sport because I see your potential hell wit the haters.. Dedicate yourself & give something them something too hate about which will be winning & going to the top!!!
