ReplyDeleteI dont think Va will win a fight. Never heard of any of those guys...
ReplyDeleteThe Va./N.C. Golden Gloves had too many strange decisions last weekend. The best boxer in a lot of weight classes is not going to Waldorf.
ReplyDeleteYes,I agree, they robbed one of the most talented fighters in the USA Steven Zaiden after he had an amazing performance every single day at the Golden Gloves in VA. its sad that the fighter that deserves to fight will not be going ahead.
DeleteIf you go to the regionals you'll see the problem whenever a Va/NC referee is in the ring. Most of them don't let the boxers fight, constantly stopping the bout and warning the fighters about obscure rule violations. Every year the Va/NC refs get booed at Waldorf.
ReplyDeleteThey don't get paid, and they give their time, but, the kids work hard all year to advance and often, the best don't get to advance because of the officials.
A lot of the better quality of boxers did not attend the VA/NC event. BOXING has really taken a nose dive in NC due to the changes made in the Golden Gloves were participants have to travel a different route than before all due to the POLITRICKS AND MONEY. BOXERS GETTING PIMPED
DeleteIf that is the same Shakur Stevenson that is originally from New Jersey then his fight will probably be the most exciting fight to watch that night . Maybe Digital Williams can correct me but i believe both Stevenson and Jackson are coming off of victories in world tournaments !
ReplyDeleteZaiden did have a good tournament. At 201+, George Harris won every minute of his fight on Friday night but "lost" the decision. There were bad decisions that affected the outcome in most weight classes. There are good boxers in Va. and N.C., but until Va./NC gets competent officials, the regionals won't be competitive. The Md/DC champs are not getting the opportunity to fight the best from Va./NC.
ReplyDeleteWatch Dewayne Beamon he is definitely gonna make some noise for NC.. very fast and strong his condition though sets him apart he was the only fighter in the VA/Nc golden gloves who dont be out of breath and tired.. He an monster for real I do not know cody woodland but he in for it Dewayne is undefeated
