July And Graves Battle To Majority Draw!

Venroy July and Quantis Graves battled to a rather ugly eight-round majority draw in our main event tonight at Patapsco Arena in Baltimore, MD.

When Graves takes a look at the footage from this bout, he will probably see a number of missed opportunities he had to take control of the contest.

Instead, both men engaged in a lot of holding and some headbutting that may have served July a little better in the contest.  The phone booth-style nature of the contest neutralized Graves offense the rest of the way.

July received the nod on Kenny Chevalier's card at 77-76.  However, John Gradowski and Don Risher saw the draw at 76-76.

July is now 16-1-3, six KO's.  Graves remains undefeated at 9-0-2, four KO's.

That's all from Baltimore.  Next stop, Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD on Friday, April 18. Hope to see you there!!

  2. That was an ugly fight, 'Brick' NEEDS TO HURRY UP & STOP MESSING AROUND & TAKE OVER THE CRUISERWEIGHT DIVISION & I HOPE HE HERE THIS BECAUSE I LIKE HIM . This fight was a draw so both fighters will fine. Just work a lil harder next time

  3. Not blaming it on anyone. I went in and fought an undefeated guy that was an alternate to the olympic team and had a draw. I didn't fight my best and didn't do enough to pull it out. I still appreciate all the positive people that come out to support DMV boxing.

  4. Venroy you need to man up and fight Nick Kisner. Your excuse for not fighting him in the past was because he had way more amateur fights then you, yet you just fought a guy who was an olympic alternate. Or fight Alex Guerrero.

  5. How many of you outside of Venroy work full time in a stressful environment 60 plus hours each week and box professionally on top of that?

  9. . Let me start by saying , much respect to venroy and the hard work team, the name really fits you. Lets talk about the fight. I most say the fight was very tough . Did you guys know that graves boxed with only one eye? Did you know Graves works just as much as venroy and travel an 1,30minutes a day both ways to gym and then go right to work. Graves took a thumb the eye the first round and still had 7more rounds to go , and still came out with a draw. ..
