A First-Hand Account of Springfield Card!

We received an account of the Saturday, April 26 Jeter Promotions/RBA Promotions card at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.  Peter Freeman of the blog DC Outlook attended the card and gave this account.  Bear in mind, this is not a boxing writer's style account but still gives a good idea of what took place.

  1. A lot of people like to see knockouts and those same people are bored by competitive fights. That's why sometimes having good fight cards doesn't draw as well as having a card full of mismatches.

    1. That's is a terrible assessment of a true boxing fan. Anyone who knows better would disagree with your statement. Competitive fights are always better because it gives the fans the reality of how is the prospect truly progressing. Fights like these will only lead up to what happen to Jeter when he fought a real fighter. Jeter was stopped in the second round and looked like the same opposition he just fought last week. A false sense of hope unless you don't mind being classified as a bum with a belt. Sorry for being harsh but it's the truth!

  2. a first hand account
Gary why would you put this on your site if you know that the writer is not an experienced boxing writer.this is a first hand account of what went on that night. Two entertaining fights.
The Russian kids fight and Brandon Quarles vs Norman Allen.
The only real fights of the night.
You know what the rest was.

  3. Tony Jeter beat a 41 year old guy who had lost his last 4 fights in a row by knockout, who was stopped in 3 out of 4 of these bouts in the 1st or 2nd round, who had never weighed more than 145 pounds in any of these bouts and who moved up two weight classes to compete against Jeter at 160, who had not won a bout in over 11 and a half years, and whose nickname is "bald" (not "bad").

  4. Simply because it was a published account of what took place there. Since no one else had one, I decided to use it.
