Yurii Polischuk has won the rematch over Kevin Womack, Jr. by third-round TKO. Early in the third, Polischuk landed a solid left hand that dropped Womack solidly to the canvas.
Moments later, Polischuk pressured Womack enough to get referee Brent Bovell to stop the bout at 1:39 in what looked like a very quick stoppage that wasn't helped by Womack going in retreat mode.
Polischuk is now 3-1-1, one KO. Womack falls to 4-4-1, two KO's.
Main event is next: Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed vs. Bilal Mahasin. Six rounds, junior welterweights.
Referees should be like boxers. If you turn pro you don't go back to amateurs . Brent gets confused an awful lot. This is pro. Knock downs are in effect. Fighters get hurt . That stoppage was too quick. Messing with careers now.
ReplyDeleteSmh they never give us a fair chance down D.C. Amateur or pro, they always find a way for their local prospects to get the decision or win by a vague stoppage. Really has to change, hasn't been the same since Pettway knocked Brown.
ReplyDeleteI could see if you just meant amatuer, being we have a different LBC, but in the pro's any fight in Maryland is judged by the Maryland boxing commission, wich is made up of a lot of Baltimore area officials, That lucky punch by Pettway was the last time a Baltimore fighter beat a DC pro, show's you that was a fluke
ReplyDeleteHometowns of pro officials who worked last Friday night's Rosecroft boxing show: Judges -- Bowie; Crofton and Parkton (in Northern Baltimore County near the PA line); Referees -- Ellicott City and Waldorf. Only one judge and one referee from what can even be described as a hometown being even close to the Baltimore area. Hey, it's okay to give an opinion, but it might not be a bad idea for you to get your facts straight first.
