Although there are no Beltway Boxers slated for the feature bouts on the Saturday, April 19 card at the DC Armory, the undercard is loaded with Beltway talent.
The latest addition to the card is undefeated DC welterweight David "Day-Day" Grayton (6-0, five KO's) who will be in a four-round contest. Grayton has not fought since winning a four-round unanimous decision over Roberto Lopez on October 26 at the Washington Convention Center.
Another boxer added to the card comes from just outside the region but has ties to the Beltway area. Undefeated Norfolk, VA lightweight Chris "The Dentist" Alexander (4-0, four KO's) will compete in a four-round encounter. Alexander is one of the latest signees of Al Haymon and is managed by local manager Sharif Salim. Alexander, who has family in the DC area, is the second Salim-managed boxer to sign with Haymon -- The first being Seth Mitchell.
So it seems like all of the undercard bouts have Beltway talent (if you include Alexander)? Nice.
