Bates and McIntyre Battle to Draw!

Marcus Bates and Stephon McIntyre fought to a very nice four-round draw here at Rosecroft.  Bates survived a second-round knockdown as McIntyre landed a solid right hand.

Bates managed to recover and the two men waged war for the final two rounds.

Bates is now 2-0-1, two KO's.  McIntyre is 2-1-2.

Intermission, followed by our co-feature:  "Swift" Jarrett Hurd of Accokeek, MD vs. Chris Chatman of Jersey City, NJ.

  3. Antoine Douglas won 8 round unanimous decision. Won every round on two cards and 7 out of 8 on the other. He looked outstanding. Completely dominated.

  7. M Bates gave it his all, give the kid credit. He took this fight nowing that it was a step up. Bates is young and can bounce back. Hopkins lost to early in career. Bates was caught by vicious upper cut and the whole place thought he would not get up. he made that count and got up and he finishied the whole fight. bates did not come to lay down. bate should fight at 112 or 118 his next fight. after he wins couple of fights, no body will even member this lost. bates will be better than ever next fight.

  8. It was not an uppercut that sent Bates flying to the canvas. It was a right hand. I know that it looked like Bates lost, but it was ruled a draw. There is a rematch at the very next fight at Rosecroft Racetrack located in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

  11. He was knocked down, about out and still made up at least 2 points to get a draw... I didn't see the fight but it sounds like he had full command the other 3 rounds. Am I missing something??

  12. McIntyre won the first round. Bates won the second round but got knocked down late in the round. Bates won the last two rounds. It was scored a draw, which makes perfect sense. The only other score worth considering was a win for McIntyre. It just depends on how much impact the knockdown had on the scoring in round two. Bates winning is clearly not an option.
