BATB hopes you and yours had a great Thanksgiving! During the week, members of the Beltway Boxing Community did their part to help make the holiday a good one for those less fortunate.

The Peterson Brothers joined DC Councilmember Yvette Alexander (D-Ward 7) at her annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway at the Deanwood Recreation Center in Northeast DC.
Mike "Yes Indeed" Reed and Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell were involved in Safeway's "Feast of Sharing" at the Washington Convention Center.
Then there is Buddy Harrison, proprietor of Old School Boxing Gym in Fort Washington, MD and father of Dusty Harrison. Buddy Harrison's traveled through DC handing out meals to the homeless and it was chronicled by RedEye Films who have done a great job in capturing the Harrison Family's exploits in and out of the ring.
Here's the video.
These are just the ones we have heard about. If other boxers did similar acts during the holidays, please let us know..and thank you!
Buddy has always been a very good and caring man always extending his hand out to help people. I would like to see more follow in his footsteps Gary.
ReplyDeleteFirst class people right there, all those gentleman are a great example for boxing.
ReplyDeleteSo if that the case why rec that video, it's so he can get prays from man and bost the gym it's not from the heart or why let everybody see it the only reward that he's going to get is from man if you do a good deed them don't let people see you do it in the dark so you can be rewarded in the light all of this is for show and it don't mean nothing so, stop trying to empress men
ReplyDeletedon't hate on the joker for doing something good. maybe he don't even believe in god and he just doing good. why don't you do something good and stop worrying about them. maybe video got him more money to do more good.
ReplyDeleteHow you fault a man that fed the homeless. Just admit it, that was some good shit he did. Who cares if he made a movie or not. He got the job done. If you would helped, you be in the movie too. By the way, what did you do on Thanksgiving to help the homeless? I see his responses, everyone now wants to donate their time and money to help. Now would these people being doing that if there was no footage of such. Sounds to me, plan worked. Then again, perhaps he just wanted to help the less fortunate on Thanksgiving. Either way, 99 percent of viewers loved it. Not sure what your problem is, but I do know you could help more by being positive. I once visited a shelter in Philly, I seen how rough these people have it, especially in the winter time. Give the guy a break, we need more like him, the Petersons, Seth Mitchell, etc...
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays, Groves
Someone needs to donate a chin to Seth Mitchell
