There will be no third try at Wladimir Klitschko for Tony "The Tiger" Thompson.The DC heavyweight lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Kubrat "The Cobra" Pulev tonight at the Sport Und Kongress Hall in Scherwin, Germany.
Thompson lost by scores of 116-112, 118-110 and 117-111. Thompson is now 38-4, 26 KO's. With the win, Pulev becomes the number one contender to Klitschko and holds on to the IBF International title. Pulev remains undefeated at 18-0, nine KO's.
Tony was to heavy for this fight which meant that he did not train as hard as he could have. The heaviest of his career. Still proud of him and wish him the best.
