Alexandria Times Profiles 'Action' Douglas!

The Alexandria (VA) Times has a nice profile on undefeated Burke, VA middleweight Antoine "Action" Douglas.  Writer Jim McElhatton talks about Douglas's last outing -- a third-round TKO victory over Ibrahim King on June 14 in West Orange, NJ -- that raised his record to 8-0, six KO's.  The bout aired on ESPN2.

  4. On his 8th fight he fought a kid with a winning record at least. Tell me what other rising DMV fighter in the DMV did that in their fist 10 fights or less.

  5. The kid is a great fighter, lets be honest here there are a lot of other great fighters that's doing great in the dmv area. Action is fighting the same guys in new York as the fighters here in dc are fighting in dc! To say he's the only one that's fighting good fighters is a spit in the dmv fighters face. Good luck to all

  7. Once again...if you can name one DMV prospect that fought a guy with a winning record in their first 10 fights, I'll agree with you. Otherwise STFU! Action aint no chump and he gonne pass everyone else up, you watch.

  8. At 5-0, Thomas Williams, Jr. fought Reynaldo Rodriguez at the Convention Center in December of 2011. Rodriguez was 6-2 at the time. Williams scored a second-round TKO.

  11. Exactly the point! and look where Thomas Williams Jr. is today, he's near the top and don't even have 15 fights! The point is, is that young fighters who step up after 5 or so fights, go to the top. While some other 15-0 or so DMV fighters who aint got shit for a ranking, cuz all they fight is bums! Then when they do step up, they get busted up.

  14. Much respect to all DMV fighters who are not afraid to fight someone with a winning record before you're 10th fight. Boxing is about learning and you only gonna be as good as those opponents you fight.

  17. What goes up must comes down. Don't get on your high horse yet. Action fought all bums, none of them could bust a grape. When he fights a puncher things will be different.
