Even though his Saturday, May 18 bout against Lucas Matthysse is not a title defense, IBF Junior Welterweight champion Lamont Peterson sees the importance of the upcoming bout at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. The bout is a 12-round, 141-pound catchweight bout.
You can read what Peterson and his trainer, Barry Hunter, said by going to this link: http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/lamont-peterson-im-not-worried-about-matthysse-196085
By the way, the winner of tonight's main event at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK that will appear on Showtime between Cleotis Pendarvis and Dierry Jean will be the number one contender for Peterson's title. As we said before, two locals -- Cecil McCalla and Antoine Douglas -- will participate on the non-televised undercard.
Pendarvis and Jean...what about the mini tournament with Judah and Khan?
ReplyDeleteTechnically, it's the IBF's number one spot. The "tournament" is still intact.
ReplyDeleteTHE PETERSON BROTHERS CAN'T CARRY DUSTY UNDERWEAR HE'S ONLY A KID AND I KNOW HE WOULD DESTROY THEM BOTH DUSTY IS THE BEST THING SINCE SUGAR RAY THAT EVER CAME OUT THE DMV.
ReplyDeleteBWAH!!!!! Person above must be smokin crack!!! Dusty good, dont' get me wrong, but best thing outta the DMV since SRL!!!!! Gimme a break!!!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as he learn how to punch he will be dangerous, til then, he not a threat to the next tier of opponents.
No disrespect to Dusty but he has never fought in the open division. Ray Leonard was a legend on every level amateur and professional. I think Dusty have bright future ahead of him but to compare him to Sugar Ray is a hell a lot of pressure.
ReplyDeleteI seen first hand dusty get touch up by a up and coming Prospect and I damn sure know that the Peterson brothers would put hands on him too. You must don't know boxing. Dusty ok but you guys are Exaggerating this kid. What did he ever do in boxing or win in boxing ?
