Jeter To Face LeBlanc June 8 in DC!

After having his own bout cancelled on his card in May, WBC Fecarbox Middleweight champion Tony "Mo Better" Jeter will return to action on Saturday, June 8 at EchoStage Lounge (formerly DC Tunnel or DC Star).

Jeter (15-3-1, 10 KO's) is slated to take on veteran Jimmy "The Dream" LeBlanc of Weymouth, MA in the main event of a card promoted by G Promotions of Mechanicsville, MD.  LeBlanc (13-24-4, five KO's) has fought numerous Beltway Boxers including Jimmy Lange and Alantez Fox and holds victories over Josh Rupard and Luther Smith.

Also slated to be on the card are White Plains, MD junior welterweight Terron "Kid" Grant (5-0, three KO's) as well as undefeated Newport News, VA heavyweight Jerry "Slug" Forrest (6-0, five KO's).  Also, DC featherweight Marcus Bates is slated to make his pro debut on the card.

  1. when will dmv fighters learn anything? Every body is fighting guys that they cant learn anything from, the only fighters that dont get a break are the andre wards and richie andrews that go into other people hometown and steal the fights u cant buy your way into the top 10 or fight soft fights and except to get a title match. what happens is u get knocked the f out when u have to show what and who u are.

  2. This is a stay-busy fight for Tony. He's 37 years old, no one is going to tell him who or when to fight. His career is in his own hands. If the people don't want to see this fight, they won't come support the show, but Tony proved what he's capable of against Lange. He just needs to stay busy until he can find the opportunity to use his WBC ranking for a cash-grab overseas. Its not rocket science.

  3. G-Man Promotions will never put this card on. They are new and they have no money what-so-ever.

  4. That is why the real fight fans dont really respect this guy nothing wrong with what you are doing for least he is being honest he not worthly of a top 20 ranking he brought that ranking and the real fight fans know this. If u want to be respected than earn your ranking and not fight guys 7 and 57 for a title fight since as that. At least the Peterson kid did fight good fighters not trying to buy their way onto the wbc ranking. The real fight fans should not buy this crap.

  5. Jimmy Lange is not a championship building fight Tony caught jimmy Lange when he had nothing left dont build your career off of that crap their are so many young fighters that would beat the s... out of tony in a round or two.

  6. You know what is pathetic? the fact nobody undersatnds that boxing is a business it's not all about guts and glory.

Tony has probably got the best mind, as far as boxing goes, in the area. He is aligning himself to be a major player after he stops fighting. This is big picture thinking.

Why does everybody get so offended by succcess? What other promoter is showcasing young local talent to major sanctioning bodies? Everybody who was involved on his recent card had an opportunity to impress the WBC inside and outside the ring.

If you or your fighters want to be punch drunk and broke in ten years so be it. Who would you rather be a guy with a top 20 ranking in less than 20 fights, or a guy with no ranking in 30 fights? Give me the first because that dude is setting himself up to make money

  7. Every one is in it to make money their are so many boxers becoming promoters that is doesnt mean anything. No one wantst o walk around broke after they fight. Basically what u are saying is that u and him dont believe in your talent or ability but are looking for a easy road to fame and glory lol. I think they are doing a good job with Dusty Harrison and some of the other real fighters in the dmv such as Thomas Williams, rivers, to name a few, but the end results is when u get a fight you should be fighting someone that has some form of ability real fight fans dont buy bull sh..

  8. Sounds like dude is lacking in his ability their is no easy route to getting a championship fight or even being in that arena u have to pay your dues, What i see is someone that is not going to take any chances and try to buddy up with the wbc paid their salaries and let them put him in a big money fight not him fighting his way to the top.

  9. is jimmy lange retired ?

    ReplyDelete
  10. No. Jimmy is slated to fight sometime in September. He is still recovering from the injuries he had before the Jeter bout.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Jimmy was injured before the jeter bout? Is that fact or is that their excuse for why they lost to Jeter. If they fight again Jimmy should go up to middleweight and challenge for the WBC Fecarbox middleweight championship of the world. It would make history!

  12. I have heard from many sources that Lange was not 100 percent going into the bout. Remember the bout was postponed from its original date in the first place.

It's no excuse -- Jeter deserved the win -- but Lange was not 100 percent.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Digital there you go again making excuses for people.Still making sure your at ringside fight night aren't you.Let everyones action speak for itself and quit sucking up.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Has nothing to do with whether I'm at ringside. I'm at ringside regardless. I'm just telling you what others have said.

If you actually read the ENTIRE post, you would know that I said Jeter deserved the win. He was dominant in the bout.

  15. Wait one second here Mr Gary Williams. You said Tony deserved the win? That is not the tune you said for days on this blog. You said he cheated, got points taken and should have not been the winner! Yes sir you did and if you fib, your penis will not grow like your nose would! No sir, I am calling the BS flag.

But you will deny, deny and deny. No sir not having it! No sir not at all.

    Calling you on Johnson

  16. Listen to what I said. I thought Lange won the bout at that time ONLY BECAUSE I thought the points deducted would take the bout away from Jeter.

But I ALSO said in the post-fight wrap that Jeter dominated Lange throughout the contest as no one else did at the Patriot Center.

  17. When lange is back to 100% would jeter be man enough to give jimmy a re-match?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Maybe, but why would he? Jimmy wants to be where Tony is now. At this stage, a rematch wouldn't mean a whole lot. Hustling backward.

Dc has no other outlet to tune into for the latest and greatest updates on our local fighters other then (boxing along the beltway) Gary has been doing this for many years for free the least we can do is respect him. If you don't like the way he run his blog go elsewhere simple as that or email him directly smh.

  25. I agree also with the post above Tony is a smart fighter and a gifted business man.I sure can learn a thing or two from him as we both fight on the same date our paths and roads are different.I think most people don't understand the different levels of boxing and Tony has paid his dues and his status.

    ReplyDelete
  26. What do you call paying dues?
You aren't knowledgeable at all and your comments are nothing short of sucking up on someones nut sack.

  28. guys are fighting over who is a fighter or not? Well let me explain to u the science of boxing, First of all, their are proven fighters that start out at a young age well schooled and trained and become good or great fighters because they have been trained to win and they know what it takes to win. Next their are fighters that try and pick each and every fight so that they have the advance dont fight any one that can throw combinations or hit back build their record make a few dollars but get exposed sooner or later for what they really are. Last their are fighters that go into everyone's backyard and learn to fight that way usually bad management but some of time they figure this out and become serious contenders or fighters. In this area most of the fighters are the even been fighting at the amatuer rating learned the fight game and are good pro's for they are getting the proper fights such as: Dusty Harrison who is not the best of the upcoming fighters but very marketable, Mike Reed, Jerry Odom Demond Nicholson, The kid from Baltimore Davis who is going to make some noise or Seth Mitchell who because of his background can become a world champion and make some serious money. Some good fighters that go into other fighters turf and win are Richie Andrews, Andre Ward, OJ, to name a few the guy that u see that are in boxing to build their record and than cash in on it well u know who u are because real boxing fans dont come to your fights. But on the other side we need promoters who put on fights so in that case lets give the Jetters and Lange a break for the really are 2 good fighters I dont see no one speaking about ty barrett he is doing the same thing?

  33. If I bashed Jeter all that time, why would I have chosen him my Beltway Boxer of the Year for 2012? No one had a better year than he did and I said that from the beginning.

  34. Gary, hey man, just do not respond to these guys anymore. You clearly explained your position. They want to stir you up. Don't let them have the satisfaction.
