Harrison Teams With Attorney Fried To Handle Boxing Career!
Undefeated Washington, DC welterweight Dusty Harrison will team with noted DC attorney Jeff Fried for the next phase of his boxing career.
According to Harrison's father, Buddy, this will allow the 18-year-old fan favorite (11-0, seven KO's) the ability to remain a free agent and not sign with any promoter.
"Jeff knows his business and this is a great opportunity for Dusty to grow in this business," Buddy Harrison said.
Fried (pronounced Freed) is well known in the boxing and sports business, having advised boxers like Lamont Peterson, Tony Thompson and Sharmba Mitchell along with other sports notables like NBA players Steve Francis, Ty Lawson and Monta Ellis, golfer Corey Pavin and CBS Sports announcer James Brown.
"I am totally committed to moving Dusty to the welterweight title," Fried told BATB. "We are looking to get Dusty back in the ring in February."
Good Move every fighter needs someone to keep the thieves aka promoters off your jugular
ReplyDeleteNot all promoters are thieves. Good move for dusty but he will still need a promoter to accomplish his goals in boxing.
ReplyDeleteThey definitly smarter than I thought. Excellent move. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I gather, Keystone will still have Dusty on all shows. If all goes well, everyone involved makes out. Word is, Team Dusty has agreed to fight at show Place Arena located in Maryland. Hopefully, they take time and don't rush things. At 18, time is on his side. If done correctly, all involved make some serious money. Jeff Fried has been doing this boxing stuff for well over 30 years, you can guarentee that he has some serious plans. Look for Jeff to sign several more locals in the near future. Washington DC will be hosting major fights this coming year. Hopefully ticket prices will equal that of the Khan VS. Petrson fight. General was $25.00 and they sold well over 10,000 seats.
ReplyDeleteJeff Fried is truly a fraud!! He is one the most condescending prics around. I feel truly sorry for Dusty this is a bad move with a guy that will abandon him as soon as his career hits a snag. This guy turned on his own partner Nate Peake who got him most of his clients. The bottom line on him is that he uses fighters to advance himself that's it. He has no power or clout he is viewed as a pest in the business that can't be trusted. My sources told me he tried to represent Lamont Peterson and Golden Boy Promotions in their contract negotiations for the Khan rematch. What kind of advisor cuts a side deal with the people that you are negotiating against. Jeff Fried is nothing more than a money hungry Jew that will screw anyone in his path to get it. The guy just can't be trusted and he lies about everything including who he really knows. Furthermore, he is a true fuck up as an attorney. He suffers from ADD and does not take his meds all the time and that causes him to make a lot of mistakes...Costly mistakes!! The guy is a fuck up that is protected by his Jewish friends that's the only way he is still in business. Bad move for Dusty!!
ReplyDeleteGene is a user too he' know's nothing about boxing he treats the fighter 's from this town liks prostitutes the best move was what Buddy did use the user to get 9 sweet fights the move on remember Gene is a car insurance sales man that's it and that's all he has money to throw the fights so thats what he does but boxing promoter HELL NO GOOD MOVE BUDDY LOOK OUT FOR YOUR SON NOT KETSTONE.
DeleteJeff Fried is a user and a opportinist . Ask any of his former employees. He is the worst and his weed head son.
ReplyDeleteI heard Fried is suing Lamont Peterson for the Khan rematch a fight that never happend. Dusty better be careful with this shithead.
ReplyDeleteAsk Nate Peake about Jeff Fried when he get home. He probably going to smack him down when they see each other.
ReplyDeleteJeff aint in the slammer-he filthy rich-drive a Bently-sounds pretty damn smart to me. NP is doing time-he's broke-no car nor drivers license-now who did ou say in the brilliant one?
ReplyDeleteWhen you burn the bridges that the Harrison's have burned, there are fewer and fewer people who give a sh** about Dusty. So Jeff "Fried Foods" Fried is a step up. The sad thing is that he can't take Dusty any firther than Buddy could have.
ReplyDeleteIn the end it does not really matter. Dusty will remain a local sensation until he steps up and fights someone. Hopefully that will be well off in the future so that he can make some money. Fried is a pest who is a third rate lawyer and that is why he is in the boxing business. Hopefully they did not sign a long term deal with him!
U A HATER 2 LOL
DeleteAlso, by the way jackass that defends Jeff Fried, having a Bentley does not define true wealth ASS HOLE. What defines true wealth is the ability to have liquid assets. Enough assets to put on a fight in DC. Jeff Fried can't do any of that. It's all a front. What he can do is live off the success of local boxers that he fools with his questionable relevancy in this business. Keep them coming idiot. I'm on vacation in the USVI and this is entertaining.:-)!!
ReplyDeletei see several comments concerning this guy fried. cam someone please tell me what he did that is so bad? please respond with the truth. i have not read yet where someone really knows. if he is this crook that you speak of, why is he not incarcerated? i know this is blog where people say crazy shit all the time. i am starting to wonder if that is what's going on now. jeff fried has represented a few people that i know personally and they have never once bad-mouthed him. (basketball cases) he seems to be involved with high profile professional athelics. why are they still seeking him out?
ReplyDeleteGood agents keep there clients bad ones have a revolving door. Also, you don't have to do anything illegal to be unethical and morally wrong!
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me is the guy that use to be with Brotman winter freed?
ReplyDeleteI've known Mr. Jeff fried for many years. The man is about as honest as they come. He has helped so many people that I really would not know where to begin. It seems as those who find fault in Mr. Fried are the low class of our society who really never had a dealing with him what-so-ever. Not long ago at a Dell banquet, several speakers praised the man for his honesty and hard-work. There was a lines of people just wanting to say hello and shake his hand. Mr. Fried is a wonderful person!!!
ReplyDeleteI know three different former clients that are now suing Jeff Fried for his dishonesty. Maybe this is a guy that you really don't know. But I do know one thing, the comments on this blog show that this guy must have pissed someone off. People just don't waist there time saying foolish things without having some insight.
DeleteWhile you people are busy insulting Jeff Fried, he is busy being successful. He is a hard-working man that has and is making others successful too. Do you really think that he cares what lies you write about him? Actions speak more than words and from what I've seen in the past. Jeff Fried is a top-notch lawyer and friend to many. He probably does not even have time to read this bullshit, and if he did, he probably wouldn't waste time responding.
ReplyDeleteBuddy u the smartest MF in the DMV used keystone to build Dusty's record then got the fuck away from them dum MF Rivers better do the same thing
ReplyDeleteThere is no way I can be critical of this because the kid is looking long term. I don't know fried so no comment other than it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's probably a duck, the one issue I do see is we're will he now fight? Freid don't do shows the Ko mayb on the road in the for see able future.
ReplyDeleteBuddy will need those "dum MF" if he wants his son to continue fighting in Washington, DC. Last I checked, Jeff Fried is not a promoter.
ReplyDeleteLast check Gene is a fake promoter but a real insurance sales man LOL
DeleteI read a lot boxing sites and blogs no where have I seen this being news. Why is it news here in DC when the real boxing world has shown no interest and taken no notice of this big announcement. I just did a google search on Jeff Fried and it seems its a mixed bag. But there were quite a few people that seemed to be not so thrilled with him as a lawyer and sports agent and that to me says a lot.
ReplyDeleteActually, Lem Satterfield of the Ring carried this story. To my knowledge, Lem and I were the first to get the story. It's news in DC simply because these are local people we are talking about and that's what this blog is all about.
Deletedont give buddy to much credit. keystone didnt want dusty on anymore cards because he wouldnot fight in maryland. dusty has got to fight in new york. no more home town hero bs. unless keystone decides to let him back on shows.
ReplyDeleteout of curisoty i google searched Jeff Fried Dusty Harrison and this story is in over 40 different websites across the USA. not sure what you are looking at. check it out for yourself.
ReplyDeletebelieve I saw both of these guys at dupont circle
ReplyDeletewhat the hell were you doing at dupont circle? or should i even ask. LMFAO were they together? Who? These Nutz!
ReplyDeleteDusty could have signed with Al Haymon but his father turned it down.that was a huge FUBAR.greed will fk you every time in the end.this is a give some to get alot business.i wish them and any fighter that has the balls to get in the ring the very best.nothing beats experience in side the ring or out.HAPPY NEW YEAR to the boxing world .remember jealousy and hating will hurt you more than them.
ReplyDeleteGene treated everyone on his card fairly. They received exactly what they were promised. The man is as honest as they come. He treated Dusty and all others extremely well. All of this started because of The Maryland Boxing Commission. Team Dusty was used to the smooth operation of The DC Boxing Commission. They and nobody else enjoys the troubles one must go through to have a show in the state of Maryland. Keystone did nothing wrong what-so-ever. They wanted to give Maryland another try and Team Dusty thought otherwise. No one can blame Keystone for bringing boxing back to Maryland. And no one can blame Team Dusty for wanting to stay in Washington DC. Keystone owes nobody anything, if they choose not to put Dusty on DC cards, so be it. I do think that Team Dusty suffers big time and I think Keystone will be fine without him. There is so many up and coming boxers in the area that will take Dusty place. Give it a few shows and they too will be a house-hold name.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that Harrison got the main event spot/got the right opponets/and the right exposure and probobly paid well for his efforts.
ReplyDeleteDon't think he has much he could complain about.
Why won't Dusty fight in MD?
ReplyDeletehe's smart
ReplyDeleteHe's scared Dusty cant fight real fighters
