Forestville, MD middleweight Alantez "SlyAza" Fox fought to an eight-round draw Saturday night against Frank Galarza at Resorts World Casino in Queens, NY. The bout was for the New York State Middleweight title.
The two undefeated boxers each won one judge's scorecard by a score of 77-75 and the third judge saw the bout even at 76-76. Fox is now 7-0-1, three KO's while Galarza is 7-0-1, four KO's.
I spoke to two professional boxing people who were at the fight (both of them were New Yorkers). Both said that Alantez won every round without question.
ReplyDeleteYou are seriously misled.. I was @ the fight sitting with the press and they called it Frank Galarza by 2-3 points..
ReplyDeleteI went to the fight aswell and Frank Galarza won that fight...
ReplyDeleteUnbeaten Frank Galarza, 7-0-1 (4 KOs), fought to an eight round draw with another undefeated fighter Alantez Fox, 7-0-1 (3 KOs), so the vacant NYS Junior-Middleweight Championship remains that way, vacant. As tall as Galarza is, Fox, 152 pounds, was bigger. It was Galarza pressing forward and the long armed Fox jabbing and punching from outside. This reporter saw it 5-3 in rounds for Galarza, 153 pounds, but the Judges were split, 77-75 for each man and 76-76, even. Benji Estevez refereed. Just so the facts are straight.. Secondment.com
ReplyDeleteSecondsout.com sorry...
ReplyDeleteBullshit! Anytime a boxer goes to someones eleses back yard and gets a draw. Well he really won. It's been that way for years. Fox won
ReplyDeleteFox won every damn round. Everyone in newyork thought so too.
ReplyDeleteThere you have it. If Chrissy says it, it must be true! Hey Chris, where is my money you owe me since 2003 from my Ballroom Boxing fight?
ReplyDeleteStop telling me to ask Scott, he is not the person who took my money.
Stop being so Damn sensitive ppl.. it was s tie so no one loss.. yet real boxing analysis gave it to Galarza.. Everyone is crying N.Y. ppl said Fox won but where's theIr proof? Look up the fight and check the reports.. stop trying to give fox a lead he doesn't deserve...
ReplyDeleteThese are ppl that live on fox block that are crying real boxing fans know what kind of fight it was so if u didn't see the fight for yourself your opinion doesn't really matter it was a great fight and I know because I seen it,I didn't hear about it...

DeleteWatch GFL.tv and see what you think!! You'll also hear the announcer say give the nod to Fox!! It was a good fight. I gave Galarza the third, fifth, and definitely the seventh. People booed Fox on his way to the ring and ask for autographs when he left. Hometown should support their own. The judges were from New York. The two boxers took pics afterwards and everybody congratulated each other . It was fight of the night.!!! Fox went out of town and represented the DMV !!! Try representing our own sometimes!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw a picture of Frank and he looked like that Martin episode. I saw Fox today. He had a mark or two, but not like that!!!
ReplyDeleteGood thing the press aren't allowed to judge fights! Give me one reason why New York judges would go with Fox if he was losing?
ReplyDeleteHey Collazo, did you drive up to see the fight or are you from NY. Last time I checked NY wasn't along the beltway!
ReplyDeleteDoes it even matter if he drove up to the fight or not he saw it for himself and that's his opinion you didn't see the fight and your talking off of what ppl told u, learn the sport before you talk about it, it was a great fight and frank did have the lead in alot of the press eyes so continue being a groupy while us real fans watch...
DeleteI just watched the fight on gofightlive.tv. Fox landed the harder shots but Galarza kept coming forward. It was a good fight but I agree with Marc Abrams who called the fight for Fox. He was doing the color commentating. I don't see how a judge can only give him 3 rounds.
ReplyDeleteJust saw it on GFL (worth it for $10 bucks since it was a very good fight) I thought Fox pulled it out but it was a close fight.
ReplyDeleteInstead of hating, give the kid props. Lot of the DMV heads stay in this area and fight the worst boxers on the planet. Tez took on a quality guy and got a draw in his hometown.
Be real people! This is much more impressive than some local hypejob stopping a 4-36 construction worker at the DC Nightclub!
your mamma was a 4-36 construction worker
ReplyDeleteThe real question is why put fox in a tuff fight like this out of state and so early on in his career , who is handling this kid?
ReplyDeleteI saw local guys lose to 0-7 fighters. Why fight bum. I guess Fox should fight all his fights at the convention center!! He should do some, but stepping up is a part of the game. At least we know he is for real. Watch GFL.tv and judge it for yourself . The commentator did pick Fox. He shouldn't do it all the time, but hats off!!
ReplyDeleteGalarza has a big fight scheduled in Guyana on Oct 16. See if he takes it. For all you he beat Fox easily fans. I know his head swelling has to go down. I guess he was using Fox as a stepping stone and slipped.
