Forestville, MD's Fox Battles for Vacant NY State Junior Middleweight Title September 22!

Undefeated Forestville, MD junior middleweight Alantez "Sly Aza" Fox returns to action on Saturday, September 22 as he takes on fellow undefeated boxer Frank Galarza of Brooklyn, NY in an eight-round bout for the vacant USA New York State Junior Middleweight title.  The bout will be held at the Resorts World Casino in Queens, NY.

The New York title is not a state title in the strictest sense of the definition.  Many years ago, the NY title was considered a world title, although that is not the case at this point.

Fox (7-0, three KO's) has not fought since winning a four-round unanimous decision over Fitzgerald Johnson on February 17 in Nutley, NJ. Galarza (7-0, four KO's) has scored TKO's in his last three bouts.  Neither man has fought in an eight-round contest before.

  1. Quick Question Gary Did you see Alexander"The Great"Johnson on HBO's 24/7 Chavez Jr. vs. Martinez I see he was sparing Chavez Jr. and what do you think of Johnson and his future?

  2. I didn't see Alex but I will check the replay. Johnson is trying to make some changes in his career and lifestyle.

He has relocated (at least boxing wise) to Nevada to get away from the distractions he feels are here in the area.

The main thing, though, is that Johnson has to be busy again. He's only had two bouts since his big win over Farah Ennis and in the big bout on Showtime, he didn't look good at all. The word was that he was ill during the contest, but he has to get that loss out of people's minds and since he hasn't fought in 2012, he hasn't done that. I hope he can get things going again.

  12. I never see too many bums in National Tournaments and winning them. It's a shame that this site doesn't make people post their photos like Facebook!!! I guess then we wouldn't see these comments. Some people actually participate, others congratulate , and some just love to hate!!!
