Jeter to Face Lange October 27 at Patriot Center; Odom to Make Pro Debut!

Barring any problems coming out of his September 22 bout in Millersville, MD, middleweight Tony "Mo Better" Jeter of Stevensville, MD will take on Great Falls, VA's Jimmy Lange on Saturday, October 27 at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA.

Jeter (13-3-1, nine KO's) will be battling Tyrel Brown in an eight-round contest for the WBC Fecarbox Middleweight title on his own Jeter Promotions card in September then will face Lange in a 10-round contest on the Jimmy Lange Boxing-promoted card.  The bout will be Jeter's first scheduled 10-rounder.

This contest was originally scheduled for June but Lange (38-4-2, 25 KO's) suffered an injury in training camp that caused the bout to be postponed.  Lange has not fought since February 11 at the Patriot Center where he won a 12-round unanimous decision over Ruben Galvan in defense of the WBU (World Boxing Union) Junior Middleweight title.  This will be Lange's 14th appearance at the Patriot Center and he has won his last seven bouts in Fairfax.

The card will also feature the much-anticipated pro debut of 2012 National Golden Gloves champion Jerry Odom of DC. Odom won the 178-pound championship at the Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions in Mesquite, NV on May 5 and also walked away with the Golden Boy Trophy given to the Most Outstanding Boxer of the tournament.  Odom is the first of the three 2012 National Golden Gloves champions (Gervonta Davis and D'Mitrius Ballard were the other two) to turn professional.  Odom will face Malik Shelton of DC who is also making his pro debut.

  3. Is the bout off if jeter looses his next fight or is it on regardless granted jeter can get clearance?

  5. If he loses, I think the bout is still on. However, if he gets knocked out, the bout will be off.

  6. Like Tony but he can't take none of them there body shots. Jimmy wins handily.

  7. Jeter will be dangerous for the first four or 5 rounds. I think he has a punchers chance against Lange. Jimmy gets hit too much for his own good and if tony is able to nail him he can get in a lot of trouble. After 5 rounds it is Lange all the way as his edge in experience and fighting into the later rounds will prove too much for Jeter. this will be an interesting fight. For the first time in a while Jimmy is not fighting someone who is coming up two weight classes to face him.

  9. Why would you say that about Mr Ballard. He has demonstrated that he has superior firepower to most of the fighters in this area.
Just look at his record. WOW!
This guy has had a couple of moments where he didn't train like he should and a little sluggish in a couple of fights but this guy really has it.
Lange knows he got lucky in the fight they had and wouldn't dare give him another shot. I think Jimmys father wiuld be on pins and needles if they fought again.
would anybody else like to see a
    rematch between these two warriors?
