Featherstone, Morris Win Amateur Bouts in York, PA!

My thanks to noted boxing writer JR Jowett for this information.  Two Baltimore amateurs won decisions on a pro-am card in York, PA Friday night.

Novice 201-pounder Stephen Morris of the Baltimore Boxing club won a 2-1 decision over Mitchell Witmer of the Capital Boxing club of Harrisburg, PA.  According to Jowett, Morris had the better boxing skills and used his jab well to gain the victory.

Morris's gym mate, 165-pound novice Jerome Featherstone, also was victorious scoring a 3-0 decision over Shakeem Hodge of East Reading Boxing Club of Reading, PA.   Jowett said Featherstone scored with straighter blows during the first two rounds while Hodge was slapping with his punches throughout.
