DC welterweight "The Beltway Boricua" Dusty Harrison has won a four-round unanimous decision over Anthony Bowman of Jackson, TN at the Landers Center in Southhaven, MS. Harrison pitched a shutout (40-36) on all three judges' cards and raised his record to 5-0, two KO's. Bowman falls to 9-40-2, two KO's.
Here is the entire bout as seen through the lens of Juan Marshall of our sister blog, Pro Am Fight Talk.
congratulations to TEAM DUSTY!!! Wish I could have been there with you kid! Until we work together again...Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteWas this fight televised? Also, I think they are moving Harrison along too damn fast. he's still a 17 year old kid. Team Dusty needs to slow down in order to avoid mistakes. You guys are taking too many chances. What is the hurry???
ReplyDeletehe won-didn't he.
ReplyDeleteNo, it wasn't televised. Local blogger Juan Marshall shot this footage. Also, how much slower does he have to go? Harrison doesn't learn anything by fighting guys who have just one or two pro bouts. He's getting good wins and good experience.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have said it better Gary. Dusty is doing very well at the pace he is going. He has people eyes open and the promoters can't wait until he turns 18 and has a 10 or 15 and 0 record. Only people who know Dusty are the ones that are jealous of what he is doing.
ReplyDeleteYou know what, its a catch 22, people are gonna hate no matter what. Either he's being moved too fast or too slow, wtf. Someone's always gonna have somethin to say about the direction he's being taken. I want to know what everyone will have to say once he is becomes world champ. Good video Juan, miss you guys!
ReplyDeletefloyd mayweather, sergio martiniez will both beat dusty harrison. sergio will stop him and floyd could easliy out box him.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Floyd Mayweather (who has 42 fights) and Sergio Martinez (almost 50 bouts) even brought into the conversation? Dusty Harrison has FIVE pro fights! There is no and should be no comparison. Harrison has plenty of time to progress. There's no guarantee that either Mayweather or Martinez would even BE boxing by the time Harrison gets to that point!
ReplyDeleteExactly! Let the kid grow. He's doing just fine with 5 bouts to his credit. He has not even got that man strength yet. In fact, to be honest, he's so well known and gets so much attention because of his age. (17) The fool that spoke the Floyd and Sergio comments has not clue how the boxing game works. Both will be retired by the time Harrison gets to that level. Ten years from now, Harrison will only be 27. Obviously the kid is just having fun right now. He's still in high school. Don't open the wine before it's time.
ReplyDeleteI HATE DUSTY!
ReplyDeleteWhen does he fight locally again?
ReplyDeleteYou dont hate Dusty, you obviously hate yourself because anyone that knows Dusty, knows that he is not capable of making someone hate him (unless your across the ring from him).
ReplyDeleteTake your hate and negativity somewhere else kid, maybe to a boxing gym so you can make your own dreams come true so you don't waste your time hating on someone else who makes their dreams reality!
Damn it sure is a lot of haters. Man dusty keep up the Hardwork and stay focused. People on here don't know shit about boxing. Why else would they bring up mayweather and martinez? Your only 17 years old bro with 5fights Smh
ReplyDeletetimithoy bradley would also beat dusty harrison. he is too strong and throws to many punches for dusty. bradley might even beat manny
ReplyDeleteToo many chances? dude is 9-40. That is the perfect opponent for a kid with his background and his amount of pro experience. wth else would be better?
ReplyDeleteYou tell em girl! Rub that 9-40 in.
ReplyDeleteHarrison is back in action locally on May 12th at the Washington Convention Center.
ReplyDeleteLet the kid chase his dreams, damn stop hating!
ReplyDeleteI agree, leave the youngster alone. Hate him in 4 years when he's 21. Too young to be hated right now. Rumble Young Man Rumble! I support youi all the way.
ReplyDeleteTall like Tommy The Hit Man. I think? How tall is the kid?
ReplyDelete5. 3"
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary, it's nice to see the locals on video. Can you post more please. I'm interested in a DMV guys. Thank You.
ReplyDeletewho what happen in the Poo fight
ReplyDeletePoo is a decent guy and they most likely were not paying him enough.
ReplyDeleteso did Poo fight
ReplyDeleteI'm hearing that Buchanan lost a unanimous decision, but I can't confirm it.
ReplyDeleteDust Mop is getting paid! He needs to get a car. Have you seen the bucket he pushes? Looks like a horror movie. LOL
ReplyDeleteSmoke blowing all over the damn place on Branch Avenue. His girlfriend is so emmbarrassed, she wears a ski mask coupled with a hoodie. God only knows how that go-cart passed DC inspection. I'd crush that shit and sell the medal. If I got $45.00, I'd be happy. The only good thing about the so-called car is that he doesn't have to worry about anyone stealing it. He could leave the damn thing running on Good Hope Rd SE with the keys in it and still nobody would touch it. I heard he wants special license plates for it that read Team Dusty. LMAO Now you know that kid ain't hitting on all cylinders.
he aint walking like u fool n the girl is not using him cuz he got a nice car. plus, your sister doesnt mind riding in it without a ski mask.
ReplyDeleteBunch of Haters!
ReplyDeletei would ride with him anytime. he's cute.
ReplyDeleteDamn. I remember when dusty was 4 foot tall fighting at Mike's 8th Ave. Man how time flys.
