Make it two prospective TV spots for Beltway Boxers that have been called off because of injury. First, Gary Russell, Jr. suffers a sprained ankle that cancelled his Showtime slot on Saturday, April 21. Now comes word that Salisbury, MD middleweight Fernando Guerrero has suffered a partially torn bicep and that will cancel his ShoBox spot on Friday, April 20 in Biloxi, MS.
The bout was schedule to open a ShoBox tripleheader that included the bouts between Jermain Taylor and Caleb Truax and Erislandy Lara and Ronald Hearns. Those bouts will go on as scheduled.
Torn biceps = steroid use.
ReplyDeleteSad to see Fernando stoop to that, but he has just never had the power to be a top fighter at 160.
