An injury to his right ankle will knock undefeated Capitol Heights, MD featherweight "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr. off of his scheduled nationally televised bout on Saturday, April 21 in El Paso, TX.
The Russell camp told Ringtv.com that Russell rolled his ankle during a sparring session this past Friday and doctors said the injury, a sprain, would take three weeks to heal.
Ironically, there were issues with the scheduled Showtime-televised bout anyway because Russell's scheduled opponent, Dat Nguyen, had pulled out of the contest citing problems in management.
Ankle, Hand, Shoulder, what's next?
