Johnson Loses Eight-Round Decision in Cabazon!

Oxon Hill, MD light heavy Alexander "The Great" Johnson lost by eight-round unanimous decision to Luis Garcia tonight in Cabazon, CA.

Johnson was never in the bout as he lost by scores of 80-71 and 80-72 (twice). Johnson was caught by the Showtime TV cameras saying he had issues with his stomach, but he fought backward most of the fight and did not perform well, to say the least.

The loss is Johnson's first in his pro career and he is now 12-1, five KO's. Garcia is 12-0, nine KO's.

  1. Al Johnson checked in like a damn girl from Nebraska. I've never seen such a disgrace in my entire life. What a mess from Queer Street off of MLK avenue. He will never, ever be on TV again. All talk, no action. Went out like a coward! It's Emmbarrassing!!!Mr. Zeke told his gay butt what to do and he still went out like home schooled young lady. They should ban him from boxing. Just spoke to Raymond and he said it looks much worse in person. He said Al wanted to check in after the first round. An absolute waste of matching sweat suits.

  2. I actually feel sorry for his trainer. He did tell him exactly what to do. Al Johnson just doesn't have heart. Not a tuff bone in his body! If he was smart he should just quit the game of boxing. Too scared to be a boxer! I suggest that he try golf or bowling.

  3. Anybody who gets in the ring deserves respect, period. You ever put on the gloves CRW, seriously?

  4. In a battle of unbeaten light heavyweights, Cuban-born Luis Garcia won a one-sided eight round unanimous decision over Alexander Johnson. From the opening bell, the southpaw Johnson (12-1, 5 KOs) was way in over his head, as Garcia consistently beat him to the punch. By the fourth round, Garcia (12-0, 9 KOs) would toy with Johnson, showing little respect as Johnson did very little in the second half of the fight. All three judges, including Fightnews.com, scored the bout 80-72 in favor of Garcia.

Anyone that knows Al and has followed his career could clearly look and tell something was physically wrong before the fight even started. In Addition the boxing world doesnt just take a man and throw him on Showtime!!! He had to have worked hard up to this point. @ Fred be careful mixing someone else up in ur slandering! IDIOT

  11. I apologize for being too harsh, but the truth is, I'd have done better than that. And to answer your question, I have never boxed but I'd never quit the way you did on national television. You have an excellent trainer and you made him look like a fool. He has put lots of hard work into you and does not deserve a cowardly act as you. Stomach cramps my ass! You fought like the Tin Man. Do us all a favor and move closer to John Hopkins. They can work on your heart. You have no excuse for what you did.

  12. Cramps do happen once a month. Leave Al alone. Come back at DuBurns Arena in March. Last chance> to redeem yourself. This time I will be sitting ringside with Raymond. No excuses Al>

  14. Food poision an a stomach cramp are 2 different things... If johnson was 45% of himself the outcome would have been the other way around... You ppl are haters an was waiting for this chance to have something to say about johnson... As I say an the real ppl tht knw him an knw how good he is keep ur head up AL! We knew the real u.. An tht night he was not thr..
