Here is the BATB Post-Fight Wrap-Up, the on-the-road edition:
Hey Gary I listened to your fight night recap and I totally have to disagree with you about the announcer situation for the Dec 10 khan vs Peterson card. Your basically saying that Jones should be the referee cuz he is from dc and so is peterson. That's like saying if the superbowl was played at FedEx field that the Redskins should play in it. We all know how the skins look this season so that would be ludicrous. I mean I agree with you on a lot of things but this one I have to disagree. I mean has Jones even been on hbo television as an announcer???????
ReplyDeleteIs babie girl card happening?
ReplyDeleteHenry Jones has been in the game for decades and should have got the nod since neither buffer or Lennon is available. Instead they bring in some no name guy from CA. That makes a statement of basically go f urself Henry jones. He's already doing the undercard but then hands the mic to some other guy who has never been on hbo too. Except he's not . . . Well u know.

ReplyDeleteI am not saying that Henry Jones should do the card because Lamont Peterson is from DC. I am saying Henry Jones should do the card because THE CARD is in DC! It really doesn't matter who was on the card.
Secondly, yes Jones has been on HBO! He was the announcer for HBO's KO Nation series. He also has been on Showtime. He also has been on ESPN2. He has also been on USA. He also has been on Pay-per-View! How much more does he have to do to prove that he can handle the big stage? I stand by my original statement that this is just plain ridiculous!
As far as the Babie Girl Promotions card is concerned, yes it is still on. Just a lot of movement with the card. There will be a number of pro debuts including Zakki Scott. There are four pro bouts and a number of amateur bouts scheduled. Doors open at six PM.
