Six Beltway Amateurs Move Into Last-Chance Semis During Afternoon Session!

Great session for Beltway amateurs at the Last-Chance Qualifier Tournament in Cincinnati, OH. Nine competed today, with six advancing to the semifinals.

The first bout for 108-pounder Lawrence Singh of Riverdale, MD was a quick one as he scored an RSC-1 over Jeremy Morales of Norfolk, VA.

The two remaining local 132-pounders both advanced as Kevin Rivers of Landover, MD won a 21-8 decision over Ryan Martin of Chattanooga, TN and Baltimore's Glen Dezurn decisioned Albert Bell of Toledo, OH, 15-8.

David Grayton of DC moved into the final four of the 152-pound bracket with a 14-10 decision over Shakor Jackson of Newark, NJ. Laurel, MD's Demond Nicholson is in the semis of the 165-pound bracket, winning an 18-16 decision over Russell Lamour, Jr. of Portland, ME.

Shaborn Ryals of Capitol Heights, MD moved into the semis of the 178-pound division winning a 20-7 decision over David McGordon of Indianapolis, IN.

The ones who did not move into the semis were Patrick Harris of Capitol Heights, MD did not advance to the semis, falling in the quarterfinals of the 123-pound bracket to Issac Torres of Mission, TX, 20-17. Also, both 201+ pounders fell in the quarters -- Danny Kelly of DC lost a 28-20 decision to Shawn Seymore of Cincinnati while Hasim Rahman, Jr. lost to Trevor Bryan, Jr. of Albany, NY, 26-20.
