Lightweight Ron "Teflon" Boyd was found guilty of first-degree assault yesterday in a Prince George's County court. Boyd was convicted of strangling and repeatedly punching his wife, 31-year-old Theresa Evans, after hugging another man at a nightclub.
Seven months after the assault, Evans was shot and killed outside her home while getting in her car for work. Police are still investigating that incident and no arrests have been made.
Boyd will be sentenced on June 3 and faces 25 years in prison. The 41-year-old Boyd had a pro record of 6-11-1.
