Nick Kisner and Andre Ward battle to a four-round draw. Kisner seemed to be doing well with power shots, but Ward was getting inside with punches of his own.

  1. Wow! Very close bout, Nic was the faster boxer but Ward landed the more punishing blows. I def gave Nic the 1st round but I'd thought Ward won the last 3 rounds with hear and determination. Andre Ward wants a rematch imeditately, he feels robbed and so does the majority.

  2. Regardless if the bout was close or not, they should have gave it to the hometown Ward. Draws are very unpopular in the sport of boxing. From what I hear, Ward won on will power alone. He's not the flashiest boxer in the world.

  3. Either way, I just hope Kisner gives Ward a rematch. That was Wards first fight and he won 3 of the 4 rounds.

  4. Nick will fight him anywhere, anytime. He's lost before and has always came back stronger than ever! Be careful in what you ask for.

  5. That match was extremely close but I though Nick Kisner won. Looking forward to the rematch.

  7. Not sure. I thought Kisner won the bout. Thought Kisner's hands being down made the bout look closer than it was because it did allow Ward to get in. Kisner did land the more telling blows, in my opinion.

  8. Guys let's be honest man what happened in this bout is fishy I'm from dc can't stand bmore fighters but Kisner easily won every rd it was competive Kisner won clearly... It was funny watching the blots guys flip out haha but that's not right to do that the pony tail guy said he's gonna get it overturned what u think Gary?

  9. Nic don't play dum with the pony tail guy comment, we no its you. see you at the rematch.

  10. This is an "i told you so" moment. Andre has lots of heart and I said he might not win but he will shock a lot of you because it wont be an easy fight for Nick. I personally had nick winning 3 of 4 rounds but I thought Ward put up a hell of a fight and showed he belongs in there.

  11. Kisner ain't no prospect. He a joke.

  12. what a fucking joke that was last night. kisner won all 4 rounds even gary williams said it. the head commisioner said it was a tragedy. im sure all 5 of these first messages were done by the same guy. there is no way in hell ward even should have gotten one round. everyone in that place said it. kisner easily won by shut out, hardly got hit boxed nicely and then even got on inside and worked good to. to my understanding the commision is looking into this, and there s a chance of it getting overturned

  13. aggreed i had 5 people with me at the show. 4 of us had kisner win 40-36, and the other had kisner win 39-37. this does make boxing look BAD!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Guy lets be realistic, one bad decision doesn't make boxing bad. What does make it bad is the poor excuse for a show that took place last night.

Big ups to all the fighters who did their thing, but that was a joke last night from start to finish.

  15. lmao!!!!! wrong what they did to kisner but pretty damn funny......everyone knows kisner won, kisner and camp happy, ward and camp mad......fight announced a draw......kisner and camp go balistic, and ward and camp start jumping up and down celebrating lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!! but yes even though ward did excellent in debut the commision has to check into that decision and maybe reverse it....but very funny !!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. It was actually pretty entertaining. Why does every local show always get called garbage?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Did Kisner ever train for this fight? His stomach was hanging over his shorts. Ward did land the harder shots, Wards shots was thrown correctly and Nicks was constantly slapping. I did laugh when Reggie starting jumping for joy because of the draw. Absolutley HILLARIOUS! the rematch will be a sell-out, if it's back in DC again. No way this fight would sell here in Baltimore. Plus, Pat would never sanction such a circus.

  18. What is that dood talking about, 'he can't stand B'more fighter's'? Spell all your words correctly, and put them into a complete thought before you try to battle B'more fighters. It makes you think that all B'more fighters have the same style; clearly this isn't true. Must b that he just hates 'Bodymore'. Gotta love your haters, B'more.

  25. ok i am a neutral fan. ward 100 percent for courage to take kisner on in debut, and to hang tough. But come on everyone, i had Kisner win 4-0 in rounds just like gary willaims and everyone else. Kisner just easily beat Leo Bercier the week before who has given Andres Taylor his only lose by a easy descion. Kisner outboxed ward for the first 3 and back him up on inside in the last round. Kisner has looked better, but he had easily won that night. I believe the commision should look into this, and maybe make this a no contest, because of how poor a decision it was. ward performed better then kisner in a sense, but no doubt kisner dominated this fight easily. and everyone knows this. and yes i have heard ward said n o to a rematch. you guys cant sit here and say kisner should not fight a guy with 12 amatuer fights, but then brag how good ward did. u contridict yourselves. i lost alot of respect for ward turning down the rematch. all i got to say is, whay did they celebrate after the draw?????? my point taken....and no this is not a bmore guy, i am actually a dc resident, and no ward personally, but its only right to give the truth....

  26. If you know Ward personally, you would know that it was him who called Kisner out. You would also know the Ward has already requested a rematch on the Jimmy Lange undecard. Yes, the fight wasw very close and you could have fliiped a coin. Ward is ready to fight again. He is no Bragard, he does not show off, he never talks down on another boxer, he is very well like by everyone. Perhaps, his oppenant needs to model himself after Ward. Furthermore, Ward is as brave as they come. He could have easly made 175 but chose not to just to fight Kisner.
Andre Ward did jump for joy, but who wouldn't after just beating an 8-0 undefeated guy in his first fight ever including the amateurs. I personally thought Ward won by a small margin, and if the fight was held in Baltimore, Kisner would have won. I do with out a doubt think Ward was in much better shape, but also know Kisner will train harder next time and will be fit to fight.

  28. ward can not make 175 first off, he was 195 and solid dumb fuck.....second off no he ddi not ask for a rematch, he was asked and clearly said no.... and no stop trying to help your friend out he easily lost every single round clearly....everyone says it.....and he didnt beat kisner dumb ass it was a draw, u dont celebrate if it was a draw, kisner easily won, ward rejected the rematch, and oh yea by the way the commision is trying to over turn the decision....think about, the own commision is trying to over turn it what does that tell you.....kisner easily won and ward got a gift, and knows it and turned down the rematch......ur boy is soft.....and scared

  29. Why are you hating on Ward? Kisner is a legitimate boxer with an 8-0 record and we are not insulting him in any way what-so-ever. We are happy that Ward won the fight. Is it so wrong to cheer for someone? You sound like a very miserable lady or man. Were you even at the fight? I was there and seen the clowning by Kisner. I seen the extra pounds. I seen the tougher and more shape Ward put in the work. I also know for a fact that he is requesting a re-match on the Jimmy Lange under-card. Ward feels like he was robbed and so does the majority of Washington DC. Yes he did celebrate, and that was because it's his very first fight ever. He didn't even get much sparring in for this fight. Look Lady, Kisner is young and most likely will bounce back, it's ok to have an off night once in awhile. The world is not coming to an end because of it. I would suggest that Kisner get himself in better shape and not pick an oppenant that has 0 fights on his resume. Things could very well back-fire as they did sat. night. The Judges are professionals and they did a professional job. You need to accept the loss and go back to the drawing board. You are correct about one thing, the commisioner is looking into that specific bout. Ward's camp either wants the decision over-turned or an immediate re-match. Actually, according to the response on youtube, the majority feel that Kisner ran for all four rounds. Look at the 1:48 mark of the second round. The straight right hand had Kisner out on his feet. I give him kudos for hanging in there. You are 100% wrong about the weight issue. Ward can easly make 175 lbs. He only allowed his weight to go up for this particular bout. In closing, please learn a valuable lesson here. It does not pay to take any fighter for granted and being a sore loser will prolong your agony. Andre Ward is the Winner!

  36. Yea no doubt kisner won that easy. listen to the follow up by gary williams and kohut, they both had kisner win...and celebrating cause it was his first fight??? lmao.....dumb ass excuse, he knew he got an early gift.....ward said no the rematch to, this is the truth

  38. U dudes r a trip. did u eva take time 2 think dat if u was not so hateful, u den wood b better off with boxing decsisions. dont u no dat judges read this shit 2. now dey read all the nast talk by kisner fans n u think u gonna get a decision ova Ward. please! dont u think u rubbed people da wrong way wen u come out 2 da sond "ain't no stopping us now" yeah i seen da fight and 2 b honest i think Kisner may have pulled it out bi a slight margen. but being human i 2 wanted 2 c the dancing clown lose. i mean 4 real, look how he was acting in da ring, like dis was gonna be a walk in da park. not only dat, but u looked like u neva trained a day for dis fight. u actually looked pregnant. i 2 seen the video that was edited, it was obvious done by da Ward crew. it only shows da good shots thrown by Ward, i no kisner did land n dat video on utube does not tell da hole truth. 2 many people acting like pre-teens, especially the boxers. i do want 2 c da rematch, but i do no dat Wards confindence is sky high now and it wood b big mistake 4 kisner 2 fight anywhere close to DC. i do hope both boxers make more than the $400 they supposely received. dey both deserve more da next time around. i hope dat kisner gets in good enough shape to go 6 rds. acording to Greg, Ward will not be fighting 4 rounders eva again. good luck 2 u both. i will b at da jimmy lange fight n i hope 2 c u there fighting eachother, dis time n shape so we da fans can no who da real winner is.

  39. every boxers body is genetics. its been proven. kisner is literally in that gym every single day. kisner did not do as well against ward like he should have. but still easily won. kisner had a rough fight just the week before that could contribute to why he was tired. but still kisner won, and they should reverse that decision. and that video is so obviously biased, it just shows wards moments, kisner easily won that fight. and yes it is true that ward said no to a rematch. and cant blame him. i her kisner is going to be taking on william bailey next week. the kid is staying busy unlike alot of fighters around here. and then 2 weeks later on the same show that ward turned down the rematch he is taking on tough newton kidd. kisner is a true fighter

    ReplyDelete
  40. Funny as fuck when they started celebrating after the draw lmao!!!! i mean really, who does that???? point plain and simple they were shocked that they didnt get the lose. kisner shut him out easy. the place started to boo, that should tell you

    ReplyDelete
  41. i hear that the commision is over turning the decision. the head commisioner was disguisted with the decision and is getting it over turned??

    ReplyDelete
  42. I know for a fact that the tape was edited because some rounds last 2:22 seconds and only one round on youtube last the entire 3 minutes. Unfortunately the tape is the only damn one the commision is looking at. So unfair to Kisner. Kisner did win that fight. Although I do know that according to Papa Lange, Andre Ward does want a rematch on the VA card.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I do hear cheers for Ward after decision is read. Stupid ass crowd cheered as if had won. Kisner outboxed him in 3 of the 4 rounds. I do not care if blows were landed correctly or not, they did land. The name of the game is to hit and not get hit back. It's not about who can hit harder. It was obvious that Ward was the stronger puncher, but that don't mean shit.

  44. Where is the fight at on youtube can somebody post the link?

  45. Damn, some people write on here like they have a 2nd grade education.

  46. ward does not want rematch. no one has called kisner. kisner manager called ward and they said no to a rematch. just watch there will be no rematch, and it is due to ward not fighting. kisner won that 40-36 that was horrible. and the commision will not watch a fight that was edited. juice gatlin from what i hear video tapes alot, and he said kisner was clearly robbed, the desicion will get over turned

    ReplyDelete
  47. I would like to see Kisner fight against Zibikowski. Zibi says he wants to fight in the Ravens stadium. He should box a local guy like Kisner. They are probably close in weight. That would be a great fight that would bring some publicity to boxing and B'more.

    ReplyDelete
  48. i agree to the last comment....kisner would smash him and it would be a good fight.....tommy z is a bum....nick is way to sharp for him....watch out tommy z might have some marijuana in his pocket

  50. no cruiser through del marva can beat nick. he easily beats a man in his hometown and gets a draw. if it was anywhere nick would win. ward couldnt even beat nick in his back yard, and so bad the commision is trying to reverse decision. nick is #1 cruiser in del marva. and is gonna knock out william bailey next week who destroyed adam seal and robles both

  51. theres a fight june 17th in bmore i believe. make ward and kisner there. kisner came to dc last time, let ward come to bmore though. but ofcourse bmore has more heart then dc so ward wont. besides ward just turned down the rematch for kisner

    ReplyDelete
  52. ward and camp said no, cause they already fought nick. thats the worse excuse i have ever heard. nick just smiled laughed and said hey its boxing

    ReplyDelete
  53. kisner is a class act, its a pleasure being around him always. hes always smiling, never complains, and always shows respect for others. and the kid will fight anyone. fought the tough leo bercier, and then 1 week later fought ward. and in next month is fighting william bailey and tough newton kidd as well. ward didnt even deserve that fight. but since he called kisner out, nick said yes. and even went up to his hometown, easily won but since took him the distance got a draw. nick said he would love a rematch with ward, as long not in dc cause of what happened last time. he said he would like it in maryland to be fair, since l;ast time was in dc. but word was a few days ago, that ward turned down the rematch. kisner just smiled said im not shocked, and says he is focused on bailey, and kidd. he will dominate both them easily you watch

    ReplyDelete
  54. kidd is to much of a fight for kisner. he is only 20 years old, and kidd has beaten undeafeated fighters, and lost a split decision to lou devalle. kidd will upset kisner. but if kisner does win, good for him. and yes i agree that kisner was truley robbed saturday night in dc, everyone complained about the fight. but hey its boxinjg, and at least it wasnt a draw. i wanna see kisner and kidd though.

    ReplyDelete
  55. damn!!!!!!!!! nick is fighting newton kidd?? that might be to much. but then again i though bercier might be to much, since having wins over andres taylor and kelvin davis, but kisner played with him. where will this fight take place at?

  64. Nicholas has reportatly turned down Ward's offer for a rematch at the Equestion center scheduled for sometime this summer. Nicholas says it's because of the location not because of the pay. According to the Maryland Gazzette, he feels the fight should not be held anywhere near the Nations Capital for fear of biased judging. It look as though Ward will just have one up on Nicholas and it will be that way throughout eachothers career. I sat ringside for that fight and I personally thought Nicholas was going to get the nod. Then again, I did have my eyes on the cardgirl with the exceptionally huge thighs. I did not reveiw that full taping of Juice's legitimate showing, but have seen the edited youtube version wich does not tell the entire story. Have also seen the pictures that had to be taken by a Ward fan. Either way, it looks as though this fight will never happen again, for Nicholas is fed up with the DC judging shananigans and refuses any offers by the Ward Camp. I cannot say that I blame him. I do feel that Nicholas will bounce back from this loss and will eventually be rated in the top 10 cruiserweight division. He's extremely hard to hit and will not get many more offers since experiacing the loss to Ward. In fact, I see a offer from Thomas Williams popping up in a previos comment. (Dear Thomas, I'm sure Ward will fight you, if you are interested) In closing, good luck to both of you guys, it takes much courage to get in that square circle-one on one+++

Now acept the loss and go back to the drawing board. I watched the tape several times, kisner slapped and ran the whole time. Yeah we celebrated in the corner and that was because it's Andre's first fight ever and we all knew how good he did. That's why they gave him the fight! Accept the rematch and fight here in DC where it started at. Stop running scared.
