Arlington, VA junior welterweight "The Mongolian Mongoose" Bayan Jargal will have his toughest bout to date in front of a nationally-televised ESPN2 audience when he faces Breidis Prescott in a scheduled 10-round contest on Friday, April 22 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.
Jargal (15-1-3, 10 KO's) is coming off his first pro loss, a tough eight-round split-decision to Steve Upshur Chambers on November 20 in Atlantic City, NJ. This will be Jargal's first scheduled 10-round contest.
Prescott (23-2, 19 KO's), a native of Barranquilla, Colombia who now fights out of Miami, FL, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Harrison Cuello on August 6 in Chicago, IL in his last outing. But Prescott is best known for his one-round knockout of now-WBA Junior Welterweight champ Amir Khan in September of 2008. Prescott is currently ranked 11th by the WBA.
Seems like a good test.
