The 2010 co-Beltway Boxing Prospects of the Year -- Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell and "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr. -- will be part of a card on Saturday, March 5 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.
Mitchell, a heavyweight from Brandywine, MD (20-0-1, 14 KO's), will take on Charles Davis of Tucson, AZ (19-21-3, four KO's) in a scheduled 10-round contest. Mitchell has been on a roll as he has scored knockouts in his last five bouts and and seven in his last eight. Davis is winless in his last five but his last bout was an eight-round draw against former heavyweight contender Monte Barrett on January 22 in White Sulphur Springs, WVA. Davis has also fought the likes of Dominic Guinn and Kevin Johnson.
Russell, a featherweight from Capitol Heights, MD (14-0, nine KO's), will face veteran Adolfo "El Terror" Landeros of Hidalgo, MX (20-17-1, nine KO's) in a bout slated for eight rounds. Russell is coming off a seventh-round technical decision over Feidor Viloria on January 28 in San Diego, CA. Landeros has lost seven in a row, but this will be his third straight bout against an undefeated opponent.
