Former DC Tunnel Club Hosts Boxing November 10!

A brand new local promotional company -- Pay Day Promotions -- will hold its first card on Wednesday, November 10 at the DC Star night club (formerly DC Tunnel).

The main event will be one that was originally scheduled for the cancelled October 30 card in DC -- Columbia, MD middleweight Tony "Mo Better" Jeter will take on Jose Felix of Savannah, GA in a six-round bout. Jeter (9-2-1, eight KO's) will be fighting for the first time since his technical draw against Lawrence Jones on July 10 in Fairfax, VA. Felix (10-9-2, three KO's) has lost seven bouts in a row. An even more amazing stat is that all nine losses by Felix have come by knockout.

Laurel, MD heavyweight "The Big Ticket" Dwayne McRae will be in the co-feature, a six-round contest against Darrick Allen of North Carolina. McRae (8-2, four KO's) has won three in a row while Allen (2-7, two KO's) has lost two straight.

Also slated for the card will be Bedford, VA super middleweight Scott "Cujo" Sigmon as he takes on John Terry of Portsmouth, VA. Sigmon (11-2, four KO's) has won three in a row since his March 20th loss to Jessie Nicklow in Baltimore. Terry (3-17-1, one KO) lost a four-round unanimous decision to Zain Shah on July 10 in Fairfax.

A number of Beltway Boxers will make pro debuts on this card. Heavyweight Mario Flores of DC will face the finally-returning Richard McCombs of DC (1-2, one KO). McCombs, a relative of former WBC Welterweight champion Maurice Blocker, will make his return after an eight-year absence.

Also Crofton, MD heavyweight Ron Gamble will debut against DC's Kareem Wilson (0-5) and Maryland cruisers Andre Ward and Walter Tyler will debut against each other.

There are also bouts that are scheduled to feature Thomas "KO" Snow and Dale Robeson-El on this card also.

A note of full disclosure: Pay Day Promotions is run by Abe Peay, the brother of Amir Peay who heads UndisputedBrand.com, the partial sponsor of the BATB Post-Fight Wrap-Up Show.

  1. Sure just like the card with Keith Holmes and all the rest. Start exposing these bullshit promoters or stop posting trash. They are not legit.

  2. How can a guy whose last seven fights were lost by KO be up for a title, even a minor one (Global Boxing Association?)

  3. Good question....how bout that the so called title fight is only six rounds. WTF? Global Boxing Association....just what boxing needs, another bullcrap alphabet sanction group. No wonder boxing is going down the tubes.

  4. I report on these shows because it is my job to report on all things boxing in this area. Remember this bout was not originally on this card, so don't blame the promoters. This group is trying to start a promotion. Let's see what they have before we comment.

As far as the GBA, this is not the best way to start an association and no I would not have a "title" fight like this, but they are trying to start somewhere as well.

  5. Point of clarification, the Jeter- Felix fight wont be for the GBA title, this is my fault it was posted not Gary's, give me crap not him.

  9. If people stop going to these b.s. shows they will go away. I wouldn't go if it was free. How can you support local boxing when its this bad! Tony your going to keep fighting these type of fighters and you are going to loose the fan base you have .What if one of them gets lucky and you loose. You will be finished. Take a chance fight better fighters get some respect.

  12. Fight fans, I have asked a vast majority of local big named fighters to appear on the show and other I am doing. We are a small market outfit for now; just giving local guys a place to fight on. Of course we would love to have the guys on the show, chop chop, sugar boo, joppy, and others, but it just isn't cost effective for our small show right now.

What we can do is put guys like Flores and Gamble in bouts to highlight them and get them started on their careers instead of being someones cannon fodder.

  16. My cannon fodder reference was to that of Ron Gamble and Mario Flores, and my bad on the sugar boo/sugar poo mis-spelling, thank you for pointing that out.

Also Jose Felix is officially off the card and is replaced by Shaun Spaid. I will know pose this to the masses. Our next show is in January. Who do you think we should put on the show and who should they fight?

I want to give the fight fans what they want. So its on you guys now

  21. In this corner, Gary "No Nutsac" Williams, 33-6-7 with 1 KO vs Bullshit Shows, 10-0, with 8 knock outs.

Gary comes out with his usual, I have been paid to write about these BS shows. BS shows counters him with a left hook - uppercut. "No Nutsac" is down. Down goes "No Nutsac" Down goes "No Nutsac". As he looks around, the crowd yells fix and "No Nutsac" goes to his locker room to write more crap about BS shows. On November 2nd, "Just Vote No" to Gary "No Nutsac" Williams

  22. At least I have enough of a nutsac to put my name behind every post I put together. Can we say the same for you? No, no we can't.

  23. I aint trying to be a big match maker. I am trying to get in were I fit in, trying to provide another outlet for local fighters to showcase their skills...For what ever reason people down here gripe no matter what.

Ray Robinson vs. Ray Leonard would probably be highly scrutinized as well. So all i can do is just keep plugging away.

  25. To take these shots against Gary is very unfair. He is not promoting fights, he is not turning down opponents, and he is not making fights. Gary is simply an observer and, whenever there is EVER even the hint of the appearance of a potential conflict in what he writes about, Gary mentions it. To question his integrity really shows who lacks the "nutsacs".

    ReplyDelete
  26. you see Gary has no "Nutsac" deleting post. This is suppose to be a blog where people can express their opinions and when the opinions are not kissing Gary's ass or praising these trash shows. Gary get your "Nutsac" back from the promoters

  27. We must administrate and dedicate our dislike for "No Nutsac" Williams, to get shots to the sac to stop writing these fluff articles that are setting boxing back 50 years. In order to medicate you must frustrate and not masturbate these postings. Come on "No Nutsac" grow a pair, don't be square because you already lost your hair. Report it fair and square and we will not revolt against the man that is known as "No Nutsac" along the Beltway!
