The last time Terry hit the canvas should have been ruled a knockdown. Terry came to shuck and jive, not fight, he did what he had to do to survive, but a fighter fights he didn't.
He gets props for his conditioning and ability to bring it on, on a moment's notice. But I'm wondering how much his clowning, especially toward the end, contributed to the unnanimous straight-round decision?
Terry was a lot of things for four rounds, but boring wasn't one of them.
If you count doing everything he could not to get hit while barely having any sort of offense going the distance sure. Granted he took the fight on short notice and was entertaining. However it seemed like he was trying to be like Emmanuel Augustus but without any of the firepower. Terry is a tough customer because he got hit quite a bit that fight and still went the distance, he took a beating for sure.
Why does boxing have to be the way you say it has to be Chris? If he wants to spend his time dancing in between rounds why should it matter to you.Did you pay for a ticket or did you get one of the free ones. Are you important in boxing or are you one of those people who likes to get on here and shoot the shit. Are you an official or promoter or matchmaker or something else?
What an embarassment Terry is. I respect that he jumped in on a day's notice. But come on, getting up from his corner to dance with the ring girl?
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've seen a bout where the fighters hit the canvas more times without a single knockdown being called.

ReplyDeleteIn his defense, he took the fight on three hours notice and managed to go the distance. How many fighters can say that?
