Brandywine, MD heavyweight Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell remained undefeated tonight at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas with a blistering first-round TKO over Derek "The One Man Riot" Bryant of Philadelphia, PA.
According to Fightnews.com's Andres Hale, Mitchell jumped on Bryant from the start with a barrage of left hooks to the body followed by stinging left uppercuts that forced the bout to be stopped at 1:45 of the first.
Mitchell improves to 18-0-1, 12 KO's while Bryant is now 20-6-1, 17 KO's.
In York, PA, Forestville, MD's Alantez "Tez" Fox made a successful pro debut at the Sovereign Bank Stadium, winning a four-round unanimous decision over Kevin Kibler of SC. According to Alec Kohut of MaxBoxing.com, Fox won handily against a tough opponent. Fox scored a shutout on all three judge's cards, 40-36 (twice) and 40-35. Kibler is 0-3.
Kohut also tells us that Dontre King of Cambridge, MD lost a tough four-round unanimous decision to undefeated Stevie Weimer of York, PA. Weimer is 5-0, two KO's while King is 2-8-2, one KO. Also, Ron "Teflon" Boyd of DC suffered a hand injury and had to retire from his bout against Terrence Crawford of Omaha, NB at 2:28 of the first.
