Maryland State Super Middleweight champion Cory "Black Ice" Cummings of Baltimore returns to action on Saturday, August 7 at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, NY.
Cummings (17-4, 13 KO's) will be in action for the first time since winning the Maryland Super Middleweight Title with a ninth-round TKO over Demetrius Davis in the 2009 Beltway Boxing Bout of the Year on May 29, 2009 at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore.
The opponent for Cummings in this scheduled 10-round bout will be Curtis "Showtime" Stevens of Brownsville, NY. Stevens (21-3, 15 KO's) is a veteran who has fought some top-flight competition including former world champion Carl Daniels, Andre Dirrell and Jesse Brinkley, whom Stevens lost to by 12-round unanimous decision for the WBC USNBC Super Middleweight title in his last outing on January 29.
Curtis Stevens is a tough guy to fight coming off a year plus layoff.
ReplyDeletesometimes you have to take what you can get. plus i have always thought Stevens was very over rated and plus, he's five feet nothing fighting at super middleweight. cummings can win this fight.
ReplyDeleteStevens CAN and HAS been beat.... Cummings needs to play close attention to the fight where Curtis took on Jesse Brinkley... He needs to incorporate Jesse's game-plan into his own which should help him get the victory.
ReplyDeleteCorey has a lot to gain by winning, and little to lose, if he loses this fight... Bring that victory home Corey.. Stay away from his power
LET'S GO ICE!!!!!
