Willis "The Prophet" Lockett was stopped in the sixth round yesterday afternoon by "Son of the Legend" Aaron Pryor, Jr. at the Hyatt Regency/Penns Landing Hotel in Philadelphia, PA.
According to reports, Lockett was doing well in the first three rounds as he battled a six-inch height disadvantage. Despite this, Lockett was able to land winging shots.
But Pryor started to find the range in the fourth with his right hand. Lockett was forced to hold on for the rest of the bout and lost a point on the scorecards for excessive holding. Finally, the accumulation of punches thrown by Pryor was too much and Lockett's corner stopped the bout at the end of the sixth.
Lockett lost his third straight bout to quality opposition (Pryor, Jerson Ravelo and Keith Holmes and his record falls to 12-10-5, five KO's. Pryor is now 14-2, 11 KO's and scores his first victory in three tries against a Beltway Boxer.
