me neither,he's been off for about a year and they put himin there with a pretty tough kid for his first time back out, definantley saw alot of ring rust on dozier,he's still a good fighter,i think.
I THINK DOZIER"S FIGHT WAS THE FIGHT OF THE NIGHT BUT< HE MADE IT CLOSE> I AGREE ANONYMOUS WITH THE RING RUST AND TOUGH OPPONENT< HE WAS DEFINANTLY NOT A 6-6 fighter.
Hey Gary, if Pat Panneli wont approve Marcos Primera for Cecil McCalla, then who will he approve! This is really getting out of hand. Primera is win 20(13 ko) + lost 20(4 Ko) been in the ring with Top Fighters like Tyrone Brunson, Austin Trout, Joshua Clottey & Jermaine Taylor. Gary can you or anybody give me some feed-back on why this Fight wasn't approve & do you think that its a good step-up Fight for Cecil McCalla! Also in your own opinion, do you think this fight should have been approved for a Local Prospect thats in Maryland.
McCalla-Primera could be a dangerous step in the same way that Emmanuel Taylor took a tough step against Doel Carrasquillo. Yes, Taylor got by him but facing a guy with that much experience is always a risk.
But why you think Pat wouldn't approve this Fight if McCalla Camp wanted the Fight. Gary do you think McCalla is ready for a step-up Fight like Primera?
Taylor won that Fight though, I thought that he made the Fight a lil Hard for himself by not sticking to the plan & Box Doel, But he pulled the Fight out. Taylor will learn from that experience. Thats the only type of Guys that Pat will approve, Taylor & McCalla can't get a soft opponent like alot of other Fighters gets in Baltimore. So he really don't have a choice.
We tried getting Dave Saunders 9-8 @ first, he wouldn't approve that either. Between Jan, 31 and Mar, 6 I've fought 14 competitve rounds with Champion and Lynch(who had over 190 amateure fights). Don't really see why there not getting approved, I only have 11 fights and not trying to fight fighters with losing records.
After doing some research, I've discovered that Primera had some past medical issues. California would not let him box.
Whether or not that played into Maryland's decision, I don't know, but usually when one commission bars a boxer for medical reasons, others tend to follow suit.
But Gary this Man Primera pass all kind of Cat-Scans & Head-Scans & pass them, sent them to the Maryland Commissioner, so whats the problem, Cali is not Maryland! Ok if Primera had issues, why wouldn't they aprove Dave Saunders then? Dave Saunders is 9(ko 6)+ 8(ko 4)! I would like to know whats wrong with that opponent!
I am not surprised Dozier lost, and they Put Guys like him on the Card over Cecil McCalla, They should FIRE THE MATCH-MAKER for Michaels show.
