  2. Chauncy Flowers won over Lil Chop Chop Corly but 98% of crowd thought Corly won.
Rock Davis won over Slim Perkins.
Joel Young won a close one over Kevin Revirss.
Train Grant won a decision over Nate Davis.
Sheed Floyd won over Joey Rector
Very good bouts-well worth the money. Kevin Revires did not perform up 2 expectations. Nice crowd following but somewhat disapointed in his holding tactics. He will be back though, ver nice young man with plenty of smarts. Rector needs more endurance to say the least.
Supreme Defense was nothing like its name, he was hit with ever shot that oppanent threw. I mean literally every shot. perhaps need a changing of name thats more fitting. (punching bag or mit head)
Very exciting nite though, need a biiger venue for Gold gloves, should be at Equestion Center on DC Amory. Courtland Perkings was given such a gift that his corner was even emmbarrassed by the desision. He aint even from here, he from Glen Burnie or further.
Guy there selling tapes for 25.00 plus postage. I personally think that too much for a 3 rder bout-amateur at that. but if peeple pay-so be it. Boss coming-see you guys later-perhaps next week. take care and peace with u all.

  3. Let me start by saying that a Golden Gloves bout sheet is about as reliable as a ______________ [fill in the blank]. I finally came this week and most of the fights that I wanted to see didn't happen. One becuase the boxer wasn't registered?? How the hell can someone NOT be registered but weigh in in the a.m.? YOu could have told the boxer that his opponent didn't weight in so he could tell his family/supporters that he wasn't boxing. But he didn't know until damn near half way through the show. I won't be back to any more GGs this year. Terrible organization of a "tournament". Started almost 1hr late too as usual.

    Now onto Pre Mantis Joe:

lol @ 98% of the crowd. I don't know what fight you were watching. Chauncy clearly won that bout.

Joel Young didn't beat Rivers. Kevin won. YOu must have went to the bathroom. I agree Kevin didn't look good but I think that is a result of their being a pretty good rivalry between the too. Emotions got too involved.

Shadeed RSC'd rector but I don't think endurance had as much to do with it as Floyd outworked, outpunched and broke him down. If he was in shape and had the same strategy--I think he still would have lost

lmao @ Supreme Defence comment, but Xavier Ward looked good. YOU must be talking about the other guys.

Why do you need a bigger venue? I've seen it more packed in there. It's cheap and doesn't need the setup of a ring like any other venue. Most people that go are family or friends of boxers. Bigger venue just means $30 a ticket and then no one will go.

Perkins didn't win. That's right but he's from Baltimore and I don't think that has anything to do with why he won.

$25 is a rip off and juice has been doing that for years. Should be illegal to do considering no boxers have signed releases and they are profiting off children. the quality sucks and he's still giving people VHS. Who the f has one of those anymore. I think he has betamax and laserdisk versions too. no one is going to pay that for one fight, but apparently some people do.

  8. Cecil is a damn good fighter! I've never seen Manny but if he's half as good as I've heard he is from very reputable sources, he should be the real deal!

  9. I think McCalla is the sleeper of the prospect group from 2009. Taylor is the real deal. Just needs to be tested, which he will be if he faces Doel Carrasquillo on March 20th.

An interesting matchup to keep in your future file for years down the road: Taylor vs. Juan "The Savior" Rodriguez.

  10. Does look interesting I had never heard of The Savior before. Looks like he has had trouble getting fights as well.

  11. I think McCalla have a Great Future ahead of him, I watch him very well in a Hostal enviroment, NC Gary Lynch brought out a Crowd on March 6, But McCalla took the fight straight to Lynch, the 1st to rds. was a slug fest, Both fighters was pumped up from at of the SHIT TALKIN that took place at the Weigh-In, I must say that McCalla was the Boss in the ring that night with all Odds against him fighting a Guy in his backyard & having the crowd against him! But McCalla stayed focus & pulled off the Win! Great Job McCalla!
