I was unable to attend this past Saturday's amateur card promoted by Paschall Promotions in association with Jeter Promotions at Club One Fitness in Millersville, MD. However, I was able to acquire some of the results from the card (my thanks to Tony Jeter.)
Kevin Womack of Upton Boxing Club in Baltimore beat Damont Giddens from Down Under in Salisbury for the Maryland state Championship.
The Outstanding Boxer of the event was Mike Steadman , a two-time national collegiate champion from the US Naval Academy, who beat Tahir Thomas of Main Street Gym in Salisbury.
Steve Matczak (Club One Fitness) beat Brandon Waters (Club One Fitness)
Danny Garofolo (Club One) beat Bill Alexander (Club One)
Edgar Takeda (Naval Academy) beat Omar Barnes (Club One)
Paul Yohn (Ground Control, Baltimore) beat Willie Cooper (Old School Boxing, Fort Washington, MD)
Termaine Wilbann (Honey Comb, Baltimore) beat Tom Scanlon (Ground Control)
Angelo Lorena (Naval Academy) beat Dan Caniada (Club One)
Chris Bertucci (Naval Academy) beat Sherman Artis (Club One)
Allen Burris (Club One) beat Richard Washington (Mack Lewis, Baltimore)
Ryan Watson (Main Street) beat Jason Bragg (Club One)
Joe Lyles (Club One) beat Nathan Jester (Naval Academy)
The Steve Matczak Brandon Waters bout was exciting. I want to see a rematch for sure.
ReplyDeleteKeven Womack is a good fighter and a good friend. That fight I wasn't at my best not taking away from him. To other fighters out there work hard and loose your weight early so you wont make any excuse. 8 pounds in 2 days is not good for any fighter. Lets keep MD, DC, and VA boxing going. Good luck fighters in the golden gloves.
ReplyDeleteDamont fought a war with Kevin. Keep your head up champ.

ReplyDeleteDamont, you fought a very good fight, I am sure the cards were close. Very exciting, I was glad to be there.
