Undefeated Baltimore, MD middleweight Cecil McCalla will be involved in a six-round co-feature bout on Saturday, March 6 at the Bette Rae Thomas Rec Arena in Charlotte, NC.
The opponent for McCalla (10-0, four KO's) will be another undefeated foe, Gary Lynch of Albermarle, NC (4-0, two KO's). McCalla is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision over Jayson Champion on January 31 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD. Lynch stopped Eric Burke in the first round on July 26, 2008 in Charlotte.
Cecil McCalla also TKO Eric Burke in the 1st rd in Va on Joe Hensley Show last year!
ReplyDeleteJAYSON champion beat CECIL mCcALLA AND HAD HIS REAR END KNOCKED OUT FOR A MINUTE
ReplyDeleteHeard he had to lose a lot of weight fast for that fight because he was replacing julius kennedy 1 1/2 weeks before the fight. It looks like that's what happend, he looked good until he start slowing down in the 3rd.
ReplyDeleteKnock out & Knock down are 2 totally different things, Cecil won every rd. except the 4th round when he was knock down early in the 4th rd. & Champion didn't do anything after hw knock Mccalla down so how u figure he lost the Fight! Champion didn't even hit McCalla the 1st 3rds & did not throw more punches that McCalla! If McCalla was knock out for a minute then Champion would have won the Fight! Don't hate on the Kid cause he pulled out a Tough Fight!
ReplyDeleteMcCalla is a very good fighter. Any one who knows anything about boxing knows he's very, very good.

ReplyDeleteI thought for sure they were going to let him have some absolute positive sure win fights before they put him in the ring with somebody who can swing back. I know dude is only 4-0 but this is still a somewhat gutsy move. Hopefully it works out for the best though
ReplyDeleteFight that should be made: Cecil McCalla vs. Josh Snyder.
ReplyDeleteEverybody that got in the Ring with McCalla could swing back, Every Fight is Gutsy Fight, 1 punch can win a Fight, so whether we r fighting a 4-0 Guy or a 0-4 Guy you still have to be on ya A Game! Everybody is a Champion in our Eye Site, so we train like a Championship Fight! On Saturday Night u will hear VERY POSITIVE RESULTS!

Upton gym keep McCalla on the path u have him on, keep trying to get fight's out of town, don't fall into this who's the best in Maryland B.S., let Snyder find somebody else to box. Let McCalla get all the out of town experience he can.
