As reported by ArmSport.am, the news that the 2010 World Youth Boxing Championship is going to take place in Baku became known only recently.
ReplyDelete“According to the International Amateur Boxing Association calendar, this youth championship, in 2010, was to take place in the French capital of Paris, though at the last minute it became evident that it would take place in Baku,” said Armenian Boxing Federation vice-president Derenik Gabrielyan, according to a source.
“The Olympic boxing competition permits for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games will be allocated during the inaugural world youth champsionship, and if our team doesn’t participate in that qualifier, it would mean that we will lose [the opportunity to participate] as well in the youth Olympic Games boxing championship,” said Gabriel
The 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from April 12 – 25, 2010 and it is the only qualifying tournament for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games that will take place in Singapore from August 14 to 26, 2010
