  3. My pics for tomorrow just for fun. We'll see how I do w/ my predictions:

    8/9
De'Jon Corely (Chop Chop Corley's son. Good boxer)
Lil Sean Veazey (Joey's little brother, should be advanced than avg 8/9 year old)
Salvador Escamilla (this kid can fight. One of the best bouts of the night at recent show in a loss)
Mike Caballero (been in the gym for over a year, but just starting to compete)

    10/11
Byron Hill (aggressive when he gets going)
Gregory Burton (top of the bracket and got some good work in recently vs. good competition)
Ameer Brown (maybe an upset but this kid is strong)
Veazey vs. Johnson (should be a good bout. you pick 'em here. could go either way, although Veazey is favorite)

    12/13
Keeshawn Williams (physically strong young boxer. should pull out over Young)
Jordan White (#1 in the country right now, favorite to get back to nationals. only recent loses came on national tournaments or to nationally ranked competition)

    14/15
Jalonte Cole (close match, but I pick Cole to pull it out over his former team mate)
Patrick Harris (I'm sure Parker is good, but looking for Harris to be focused after being robbed last year @ Regionals)
Chris Forbes (#3 in the country 2007. Looking to return to Nationals)
Gervonta Davis (def favorite to win DC/Regionals and Natl. Failed to make weight last year. #1 in US in 2008 and current National PAL Champion. Looking much stronger and comfortable this year almost 25lbs heavier than last year!!)
Roemello Webster (haven't seen him in a while, but more experienced in this bout)
Rashard Board (getting good work in the Russell camp. Should make the difference)
Chisholm (another close bout. Hernandez made it to Natl last year losing to the #2 ranked boxer in US. Chisholm back in they gym now pretty steady lost close bout (4:4 computer score) in the 2009 Natl JOs. Haven't seen Hernandez lately so I'm going with Chisholm)

  4. Ok, so here's how I did, fights that didn't happen listed as no contest (nc). 7 out of 15. Not good at all but two of the bouts were very bad decisions. Others I pretty much agreed with.

    8/9 - 0 for 4
Corley - didn't make weight lost
Sean Veazey - didn't make weight lost
Escamilla - not sure if he won
Mike Caballero - lost to George Jones

    10/11 - 2 out of 3 (one pick 'em)
    Byron Hill - nc
    Gregory Burton won
Ameer Brown won - I didn't agree with this decision and thought it was the worse that I've seen. Henson def got jobbed on this one.
    Veazey

    12/13 1 out of 2
Williams lost to Young - Young looked really good and it will be a great fight vs. Jordan White next week.
Jordan White -nc opponent didn't make weight

    14/15 4 out of 6
    Cole lost to Tyler
Patricks Harris won via RSC - some of the best body shots I've seen in a while to stop a game Parker
Chris Forbes won - setting up a great fight between Forbes and Harris
    Davis won
    Chisholm won by walkover
Webster lost - this was another bad decision as Webster IMO scored a lot of scoring blows and body shots which are supposed to be counted as points in amateurs

  5. Decent night of boxing; however, things will get heated next week. Romelo Webster did lose, but was a very close bout. Looked at partial tape and it clearly shows Webster taking clean shots several times. Especially in second round. Chris Forbes has beaten Patrick Harris twice before and see no reason why he will not do it again. He is just too fast and too slick for Patrick Harris.
Jabar Henson lost most likely because of his older sister getting on judges nerves. Extremely nasty mouth, but two young ones are the nicest young lads you ever want to meet.
Looked to me that Denardo Johnson out-pointed Veazy by far. How many bouts are scheduled for next week? Is the price the same in the championships>

  6. dat is his moms, not his sister.
    she do be nasty tho>

  7. Haha. I'm sure she will take that as a complimentary slight. Lmao . . . older sister, hahaha. I saw full take and Websters body work made the diff but the didn't count them. That's why u will see none of the officials seated at that ring at national tourny. Johnsk. Looked good but he was outboxed by Veazy and outpointed. Chris and Pat will be a good fight. Pat hasn't been out the gym since they met years ago, Chris has- that could be the difference but they haven't fought in a while.

I do agree that Henson twins are good young men. Feel bad that the one was jerked out of chance to box for Regionals. Bad judges let their personal feelings get in the way and I know two in particular that I don't want seated for my boxers fights. Not going to name names but Bonnie and Clyde will rob u any chance they get. These are children we are talking about and they don't seem to get that part.

  8. I THINK ALL THE BOXERS DID A VERY GOOD JOB LAST NIGHT.WE DO HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THEY ARE KIDS. I REALIZE THAT EVERYONE WANTS A CERTAIN PERSON TO WIN JUST BE FAIR WHEN IT REALLY COUNTS.OR IT WONT BE ABOUT THE KIDS ANY MORE.

  9. I think Ameer Brown could have fought much better seeing that his asthma had flared up before the bout.I felt it was close and Ameer through straight punch that were easier to score. Both kids fought their best.Keep it about the kids.

  10. Jabar Henson lost may be a result of his teams un-sportsman like conduct. We must keep in mind that is for the children and some the language and taunts coming from the adults was unbelievable. Let's keep it about the kids and set good examples for them.
