The Baltimore Pro Boxing card slated for Friday, October 16 at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore is also coming together. The card includes two solid eight-round matchups.
Undefeated Baltimore welterweight James "Keep 'Em Sleepin'" Stevenson will take on veteran "Magnificent" Martinus Clay of Wilson, NC in the main event.
Stevenson (11-0, 10 KO's) is coming off a third-round stoppage of Sebastian Hamel on August 27. Clay (13-21-4, five KO's) will be the second straight veteran opponent Stevenson has faced. Clay has lost three straight and will try to bounce back from an eight-round unanimous decision loss to Tim Coleman on July 25 at Du Burns.
The co-feature brings Front Royal, VA junior welterweight Andrew "The Doo Man" Farmer to Baltimore for the first time in his pro career. Farmer (12-1, seven KO's) will battle "Rockin" Ryan Belasco of Wilmington, DE (11-3-3, three KO's). Farmer won an eight-round unanimous decision over Marty Robbins on May 9 in Winchester, VA. Belasco will be trying to turn things around after losing an eight-round majority decision to Dean White on July 24 in Dover, DE.
The card also features the return of action for two popular Baltimore Boxers. Cruiserweight "The American Dream" Mike Dietrich (10-1, five KO's) will take on Wilson, NC's Octavius Davis (2-2-1, one KO) in a four-round contest. Dietrich will battle for the first time since losing his first pro contest -- a third-round knockout loss to Wes Taylor on April 18, 2008 in Pikesville, MD. Davis lost to Lateef Kayode on October 3, 2008 in Salisbury, MD.
The other returning boxer will be the undefeated "Golden Greek" Elias Bouloubassis. The super middleweight from Reisterstown, MD (3-0-4, three KO's) has not fought since battling Pete Guthy to a draw on December 7, 2007 in Pikesville, MD.
Also on the card will be undefeated DC heavyweight Maurice "Freight Train" Byarm (3-0, two KO's) who will face Newark, NJ's Tyyab Beale (2-1, one KO) in a four-round bout. Byarm is coming off a four-round majority decision victory over Maurice Winslow on July 25 at Du Burns.
Undefeated Catonsville, MD cruiser Steve "Show Stealer" Wheeler will take on Spartansburg, SC's Micky Stackhouse in a four-rounder. Wheeler (3-0, two KO's) scored a first-round knockout over Lamar Foreman on the July 25 Du Burns show. Stackhouse (6-20-1, five KO's) has lost five in a row.
Making his pro debut will be Baltimore super middleweight Devin Butcher who will take on Portsmouth, VA veteran John "The Baptist" Terry (2-14-3, one KO. Butcher is the son of five-time world kickboxing champion Eddie Butcher.
There will also be a special bout that features 43-year-old Baltimore heavyweight Joe DeLawder who will take on Youngstown, OH's Billy Greenwalt 1-6, one KO. DeLawder, who once battled Dana Rucker to a split decision in the amateurs, is fighting for the first time as a pro and is dedicating this bout to nine-year-old Kilryn Morgan who has been diagnosed with leukemia. There will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction to raise money for Kilryn.
There is one other bout slated for this contest which hasn't been signed yet. I can't say anything about it yet, but, trust me, if it comes through, it will be big.
Looks like another great show from Jake Smith!
ReplyDeleteStevenson-Clay - Great test for Stevenson who has to be the most active guy fighting today! I'm pretty sure he turned pro the night George Rivera fought Jesse Nicklow the first time. And he's already fighting his twelth pro fight, WOW! Great management team working with him. Clay always provides a real test having beaten Matt Vanda and fighting Harry Joe Yorgey (among others) to a very controversial draw. This is a real test for Stevenson. Good luck to him and his team!
Looking forward to Andrew Farmer and Ryan Belasco. If you haven't seen Farmer in action you are in for a real treat. I think he's the real deal. He's got a puncher's frame a la Alexis Argeullo, he can move, he can box, he can punch, and he's smart. Belasco is a good fighter too but he better bring his A game to compete with Farmer. It will be a good fight.
If Mike Dietrich gets everything going in the right direction he can make some waves in his weight class.
I remember Maurice Byarm's dad, Lionel Byarm, and the night he fought Evander Holyfield in Holyfield's debut. All those great fighters from the 84 Olympic team turned pro on the same night on Live Network TV!
I don't know Wheeler and Butcher but I know Mickey Stackhouse and John Terry are very tough kids. Good luck especially to VA's John Terry, I would like to see him get a win, he's had a bunch of hard fights in his career and performed well in most of them.
Good luck with the show Jake!
Joe Hensley
Joe and cujo,
ReplyDeleteWhy are you guys trying to change the date we agreed upon? I am 2 weeks into my camp to fight you the Saturday before thanksgiving. Now you want to try to move it up to Oct 16th? Great, are you going to fight me at the weight I will be at in two weeks? Exactly you're a little bitch and Joe is a snake trying to pull this. We aren't talking a week or two out of my camp we are talking 3/4 of it. You're a spineless prick and doesn't have the balls to do it the right way. Mr. Farmer said December since you two pulled our date! Cujo do not call me again call Mr. Farmer and he can handle it. I have a contract with him and have to do what he says.
I would have never thought Ridgway would be the one to choke,I figured it would be Cujo.
ReplyDeleteYou can't say ridgeway choked, when he hasn't heard a thing until yesterday. If he they want to move the fight up a month and a half then they should fight him at the weight he will be at. This is just a way for cujo and Joe to get out of it. I happen to know that Scott Farmer is working on puttig it on his next show, and when a fighter has a contract with someone they can't just go fight whenever they want. The facts are they gave a date of the end of November and are trying to find a way to get a guy when they won't be 100% ready. Be a man of your word and keep the date you promised or one right around it. Scott is looking at December 5th, and that would be more sensible for both camps. Two weeks later compared to almost a month and a half earlier..... Sounds like somebody doesn't want to fight a fighter who is inshape and prepared.
ReplyDeleteKeep the date man! Everyone is watching
ReplyDelete"Camp" you say Ridgeway? WTF is wrong with you? You don't have a camp OR any friends or fans that blog about you. I do my research & nobody has ever heard of you. Not in texas not in oklahoma not anywhere except here on this blog. Why do you insist on coming on here blogging under false names trying to make it seem like anyone gives a shit about you or your career? stop the madness! Admit that you have ZERO amateur fights and are 0-1 in mma! If you want to fight thats fine. Call people out and fight them but stop the god damn lying. Nobody listens to you anymore. Yeah OK a fighter with 1 fight that nobody has heard of has a camp. Yeah OK. I hope Cujo or Richard beats your ass so people who only see your name on this blog can be rid of you. Get out of DC and go back to Texas or at least be quiet and fight someone already!
ReplyDeleteScott if you read this I bet you that McCombs will fight Ridgeway. Ridgeway is King Kong & will punish Little Richard. They can fight for the "I Run My Mouth Too Much On This Blog And No One Cares About Me" Light-Heavyweight Championship!
ReplyDeleteThose two guys are both always crying about not being able to get a fight so why not let them fight eachother?
Cujo is scare of Justin so it wont be him beatting anything up. Joe keep your word.
ReplyDeleteI like the Ridgway Little Richard fight too but why is cujo & fat Joe so scared of Ridgway?
ReplyDeleteAnswers please Joe...
Why don't you guys want to beat up Ridgway if you're so tough?
Looks like Ridgway's mouth has scared you guys off!!! Thats funny because Ridgway doesn't exist except on this here blog.
Is that the same Ridgeway that says he has over 400 amateur fights but doesn't appear anywhere on any websites & no one has ever heard of?
ReplyDeleteMMA 0 - 1
& the win against Aughtrey... Only records I can find.
I bet Richard McCombs would beat him & Cujo would KO him.
But Ridgway has Fat Joe & Fago scared now don't he?
ReplyDeleteTheyre gonna feel dumb if Little Richard beats him!
Joe is such a tough guy! He wants to talk about everyone else but not the guy that is in front of him. Justin, even after you went to there home town and call FAGO and JJ thats Joes new name vagina or inverted penis because that is how he acts. You knew he was'nt gonna fight you. Joe is a snake and a cheat. Beware of JJ.
ReplyDeleteEven though i know that ridgway is a HUGE liar about anything he's ever done, its obvious that joe & cujo are afraid of his big talk.
ReplyDeleteYou two are pussies for not fighting that guy.
We keep offering to fight him.He keeps refusing. He got in front of my hometown and said anywhere, anytime. We just recently gave him a time and a place and he said no.He said he weighed 210.Well get off of your fat ass and workout.I am through wasting my time with this talk I actually have a career,I appreciate everyone's interest in the fight but Ridgway will not let it happen. He is a coward and I punked him.Regardless of what any of you think I know what Ridgway is....Nothing
ReplyDeleteCUJO
Agreed!
ReplyDeleteRidgway just wants attention.
He doesn't want to fight.
Who will put on a McCombs vs Ridgway fight?
Winner gets Cujo!
IF the winner isn't scared!
I have sat back and watch this community run it's mouth about a good friend of mine. I am actually going to speak out now. I was there when he talked to Cujo, and it was a very simple phone call. He said " if you move the fight up to October 16, 2009 I will only be at 185lbs. Are you going to fight me at that weight?" He had it on speakerphone so we all could hear it in the gym, and this Cujo kid responded "no way!" We have been in this boxing game for a long time and this is the second camp in the last two years, We have had and Justin has been in with us. I will tell you that he will fight him anytime or anyplace. You can't move a fight up that far ahead, and try to bark orders like this Cujo kid did. He said he didn't want to wait until December to fight him. You can think what you want of Justin, but trust me he will come and come hard against this guy.
ReplyDeleteTeam Flores
Cujo
ReplyDeleteWhy change the date in the first place?
Here we go. Now Ridgway is pretending to be BJ Flores. Yeah Ridgway, we all know that BJ Flores is your best friend and that you went to high school together. Only problem is that he's 10 years older than you so how can you two go to high school at the same time. Yeah, and your a captain in the army to at age 23. Stop lying and grow up. AND you had 300 amateur fights. Only problem with that is that you don't show up ANYWHERE! What's your mma record? Last time you said your record is 30 - 1. EXCEPT I checked & your real record is 0 - 1. Your a liar! Maybe you can beat Cujo & maybe you can't but the FACT is that your a big LIAR! Stop lying all the time about who you are and what you'v done and maybe you'll get some fans. See a doctor or something.
ReplyDeleteWow Cujo and Hensley trying to pull the banana in the tail pipe trick. Unfortunately again the two of you have been exposed. Ridgway has been calling for that azz for the better part of this summer you finally devise a plan to avoid him without looking like puzzies and you have been exposed.
ReplyDeleteI think Joe believes he is smarter than the beltway community, and he has actually pulled the wool over some eyes but the majority see right through you.
You have been exposed!!!!!!!
Now joe is resorting to making anonymous posts. We could care less about his MMA or Amatuer record because this is professional boxing stick to the issue at hand Joe why all this backhanded negotiation?
ReplyDeleteJeff Sherwood from www.sherdog.com says:
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who Justin Ridgway is. It would be impossible for a mma fighter to have 31 pro fights & me not know who he is. I've never even heard the name "Justin Ridgway" before.
There you have it.
Ridgway, what's your amateur boxing record? What's your pro mma record?
ReplyDeleteCan you beat Richard McCombs?
Can you beat Cujo?
At what weight & when do you want to fight those two guys?
LOL @ Cujo and joe trying to push the fight on McCombs so they don't have to fight Ridgway. Cujo I think your mouth just wrote a check. Too bad you azz has insufficient funds
ReplyDeleteKeep posting anonymous bashes..... That shows that what you're saying isn't a first hand fact. I wish this would go back to Registering your email to post comments.
ReplyDeleteRidgway is ducking McCombs now...
ReplyDeleteHe just wants attention.
No answer to your bigtime claims on the fights you've had now?
Thought so.
McCombs wins decision. Cujo stops him easy.
And stop pretending to be BJ Flores dude. I bet he'd be pissed if he knew you were writing shit pretending to be him.
I wish this particular thread could be used for comments about the actual card that is highlighted here.
ReplyDeleteAll this speculation on Ridgeway, McCombs and Sigmon is just that -- speculation.
Why don't we have more talk about this card?
Bobby Jordan really needs a manager!
ReplyDeleteWhy is he getting thrown in like this?
He's talented!
I agree with Gary I am so sick and tired of every thread turning into a shameless self promotion for Joe and Cujoe
ReplyDeleteJoe is a coward and a cheat(:
ReplyDeleteI think we all need to respect Gary Williams wishes and keep the comments to the related subject.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is especially informative for the boxing in this area and Ridgway and Cujo and Hensley don't belong on this particular subject. This subject is on Jake Smiths show on October 16 and it seems to be shaping up very nicely.
Gary maybe you should Start a subject on this matter and see if the people are still as persistant
with all the negative comments on this subject.
Jake is stepping it up, this is a card I will attend. Boxing Rec has Mayes Paschall on the card! Is that trud Digital? If so that is an awesome matchup. Why is Mike fighting as a lght heavy, this is very dangerous for a talented kid who doesn't pack a big enough punch for the super middleweights he has been fighting. Wish he would get down to Middle, jr middle. Either way, love to watch him fight!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing Andrew Farmer in person. How did he lose to Ken Humphrey? Belesco is a tough fighter, could be undefeated but he doesnt really hit hard enough to keep guys off him.
Digital, this forum is great. Suggestion, can you set up each month a Jeter, McCombs, Ridgeway, Cujo blog so those guys can go at it on there and leave the other blogs for the topic of which you write? Congrats on the HoF, you are keeping this sport alive with this blog.
Leave Jeter out, he is not commenting. He does not need too.
ReplyDelete"Keep'em Sleepin"
ReplyDeleteSuggestion, can you set up each month a Jeter, McCombs, Ridgeway, Cujo blog so those guys can go at it on there and leave the other blogs for the topic of which you write?
ReplyDeleteThis is ridiculous. They should set up their own blog. Gary's blog is light years ahead of their mudslinging egomanic juvenile posturings. If anything he should bar them (esp jh and his many alias anons) completely, for the constant pirating of legit articles.
Joe Hensley need his own blog sense he is such a good writer.
ReplyDeleteJoe Hensley need his own blog sense he is such a good writer.
ReplyDeleteYep. That and a mirror and he would be set.
ReplyDeleteAbout Mayes-Paschall..
ReplyDeleteThat bout will not happen on the October 16 card. Paschall is slated to make his MMA debut on Saturday October 24 in Baltimore at 1st Mariner Arena. I think Mayes is banged up a little also.
That bout will not happen on this card.
Gary,
ReplyDeleteIs that the bout you were referring to when you said you didn't want to comment yet?
Mayes-Paschall or Cujo-Ridgeway?
ReplyDeleteEither way the answer is no.
Mike say it ain't so!!
ReplyDeleteHow about CUJO and Mayes???Sounds like a good fight to me!
ReplyDeleteCujo you haven't punked anybody
ReplyDeletebut yourself. What to hell are you calling up Ridgway for. You have been told for Joe to contact Scott Farmer about this match.Joe contacted him and he said no to the moved up date and you still insisted on cxalling Ridgway.Go through the proper channels you jerk
and quit trying to manipulate this sport and everybody in it.
We keep offering him dates and he won't take them. You ain't running
shit around here buddy boy.
There you go again Ridgeway, pretending to be someone else. I hope everyone realizes that this guy has ZERO fans. He signs in as anonymous and invents names to sign in under. Its all him. You guys are both punks as far as I'm concerned. The main difference is that Sigmon actually seems to have some friends and fans. Ridgeway, no one has heard of you and no one gives a shit about you. This is directed to both of you. Stop hijacking all of the different subjects on this blog. Everyone is tired of it and once again, Ridgeway I hope I never see you on this blog again. The one time I met you you talked about yourself for an hour straight and then as soon as you left someone told me that it was all lies. And nice MMA World Championship Belt in the LA Boxing at Arlington. You're a world champion, my ass. Joe, you seem like a nice guy and nothing wrong with self promotion and promoting your guys. But please do us all a favor and lead by example and stop hijacking other people's articles on here. Digital Williams gives you plenty of press. No need for you to steal other peoples thunder. Enough about those bums.
ReplyDeleteGlad to that Stevenson is keeping busy. he appears to be very talented. Stay fighting and big things will come.
Farmer is a beast. He needs to fight more often though.
Where has Joe commented on this thread except for 1 time talking about the Oct. 16th show?
ReplyDeleteProbably most, including last the last 2. No one cares anymore.
ReplyDeleteActually ridgeway didn't say any of that, so keep running your big mouth. Sounds a lot like money mike talking in that last long post. Congradulations dummy!
ReplyDeleteWow, first off the show on the 16th looks pretty nice. Solid fights as it appears. Second of all I know we all want to "stay on the topic" but this is what we get when we blog. We start talking about other stuff.
ReplyDeleteNow being an outsider I have had a good acclimation to the boxing scene down this way. I must say this. Just about everyone I have dealt with has been honest and helpful. I have done deals with some and have had conversations with others.
There has been only a select few who I will NEVER and I mean NEVER ever deal with again. And if people ask me about them I will be upfront and honest and tell them what I think about them.
Most of the fighters, managers, trainers, and promoters have been good to me.
There is some solid talent down here and some great future match ups, lets just keep it polite.
And for the record Money Mike is okay in my book
Money Mike is a cool guy, one of the good guys.
ReplyDeleteYour bud
Alexander Povetkin was just added to this card
ReplyDeleteIm sure the dope fein will get his nose in the right direction....the waves hell be makin will be bye bye once again nice to know ya ...on his way to the er.hes a dirty person.anyone else should and will win....HE WONT HAVE TO "DOPE A ROPE" hes silly ass will really be bent like last time he CHOCKED..just cant take BUMS....anoymoums b/c I really dont give a fuck just like to put the word out that EVERYONE IN BALTIMORE KNOWS...YA CAN FIND MIKE COPPIN SOME NOT DROPPIN SOME haaaaahaaaa
