Former heavyweight champion Hasim "The Rock" Rahman was knocked out in the seventh round by Wladimir Klitschko tonight in Manheim, Germany.
According to Fightnews.com, Klitschko was in command with his jab from the beginning, while Rahman was looking to land a big shot, as he did against Lennox Lewis in 2001. That punch never came, however, as Klitschko punished "The Rock," in all rounds, finally dropping him in round six a series of left hooks. In round seven, referee Tony Weeks waved off the bout after Rahman took more shots. Time was :44.
Rahman falls to 45-7-2, 36 KOs. Klitschko's record is 52-3, 46 KOs.
out of shape, fighting for the payday, Rahman looked terrible. The commentators were nailing him for being out of shape. Rahman is a one hit wonder, soon to be very forgotten. Goodbye, Rock.
ReplyDeletegone chllin wit doe..hater
ReplyDeleteRahman will ALWAYS be remembered for his "one hit wonder"...
ReplyDeleteThe Klitschko fight is the one that will be forgotten, along with Klitschko...
And Rahman's family will always remember that extra couple hundred grand they had for the '08 Xmas season...
As mentioned previously, the outcome of Hasim's fights have been predicted by his former trainer A.D. In this fight, the prediction was a 5th round k.o. This fight actually should have been stopped in the 5th round. In 2003 when Angelo Dundee was asked who would win between Toney and Holyfield, Dundee predicted the outcome as a Holyfield victory.
ReplyDeleteThe question was asked of Adrian Davis (who at the time was preparing former IBF world champion Eric Aiken for an upcoming fight), Davis responded with the exact outcome of the fight, saying he believed that "As great as Holyfield has been, that he couldn't defeat Toney with the way he now fights.
Hasim's current trainers aren't training him properly. With the strength and size that Hasim has been gifted with, there is no way the outcome should have been the way it was. Hasim should not fight anymore, unless he retains the service of one Adrian Davis.
Being pushed through the Corey Sanders fight, and then through the 1st Lewis fight should be enough to remind Hasim of where he needs to be; with his good holsome Muslim roots trainer. Hypothetically speaking, if my wife believed and told me to return to the trainer who brought me glory, I'd seriously consider it.
If my family members did the same, I'd add more seriousness to my consideration. Foolish pride should not be a reason to doom oneself.
Hasim needs to come home, and prepare to be dominant in the heavyweight division once again, and get that clown Klitschko back.
April 21st prophet from Round One
With the continual correctness of trainer Adrian Davis's predictions, I remain flabergasted at the television networks inability to have interest in that knowledge. The knowledge has developed partly because of experience, the proof is the continual development of 'slick' champions.
ReplyDeleteMr. Davis should clearly, undoubtedly be included in broadcasts. Television fight commentary seems inevitable. Hasim,...., see you in 2009 at Round One.
