ShoBox Card in Salisbury A Done Deal in October!

It is now official. There will be a nationally-televised card coming to the Wicomico Youth And Civic Center in Salisbury, MD on Friday, October 3. The two televised bouts will feature all undefeated boxers.

The card will be a ShoBox card on the Showtime Network. In fact, the card is called "It's Showtime in Salisbury." The card is a tri-promotion with Prize Fight Boxing, Duva Boxing and Baltimore Pro Boxing.

The main event features the return of Baltimore welterweight Tim "Pit Bull" Coleman who will take on James "The King" De La Rosa of Harligen, TX in a 10-round matchup. Coleman (14-0-1, three KO's) has not fought since December 7, 2007 when he battled Martinus Clay to a 10-round draw at the Pikesville National Guard Armory in Pikesville, MD. De La Rosa (17-0, 12 KO's) is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision win over Troy Wilson on June 13 in Scranton, PA. De La Rosa is the younger brother of "The Contender -- Season 1" participant Juan De La Rosa.

The co-feature marks the first pro appearance for Salisbury resident Fernando Guerrero, who will try to keep his perfect record (9-0, nine KO's) in an eight-round contest against Tyrone "T.T" Watson of Pittsburgh, PA (7-0, three KO's. Guerrero stopped Fernando Barajas in the fourth-round on July 26 in Tunica, MS. Watson won by fourth-round TKO over Ken Johnson on July 20th in Greensboro. Prior to that win, Watson defeated previously undefeated Dyah Davis by sixth-round majority decision. Davis was 9-0 at the time of the loss.

Good step-up bout for both men because neither man has fought in a scheduled eight-round contest.

Normally, I don't talk a lot about ticket prices, but I think this is a rare and a good deal. From now until midnight on Sunday (early Monday morning), the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center is offering an internet-only presale for the card. Here's what you do:

Go on to the web site for the civic center (Wicomicociviccenter.org)

Click on "Tickets"

Type in the pre-sale code "BoxingO8"

And then purchase your tickets at 20 percent off the regular price before the tickets officially go on sale Monday at the box office.

Also if you have a high school or college student ID or a Veterans ID, tickets are 20 percent off no matter when you purchase your tickets.

The card will begin at 8 PM.
