Snow Stopped in Second in Philadelphia!
Capitol Heights, MD featherweight Thomas "KO" Snow (black trunks) suffered a second-round TKO loss to undefeated Teon Kennedy of Philadelphia, PA tonight at the New Alhambra in Philadelphia.
From what I've been told, Kennedy was on Snow from the opening bell and never let up. Another account, however, said the bout was pretty even in the first and then Snow was caught by a right hand in the second and then pummeled to a TKO the rest of the way. The bout was stopped at 1:21 of the second.
With the loss, Snow is now 10-1, eight KO's. Kennedy is now 9-0, five KO's.
PERSONAL VIEW: I tend to agree with the second account of the bout, which came from ace photographer Mike Greenhill, who was at the bout. I just finished watching the contest and the fight was definitely even in the first. Vinny Pazienza, who was doing commentary on the CN8 broadcast, actually gave the round to Snow, despite Kennedy catching Snow earlier in the round.
Snow just got caught with a beautiful Kennedy right hand. The other punches were truly inconsequential. Snow dropped his left for a brief moment and Kennedy came around and dropped him. Great punch.
It will be interesting to see what direction Snow, who is now managed by "The First Lady of Boxing" Jackie Kallen, will go at this point.
That wasn't a fair fight. Snow's opponent had a winning record.
ReplyDeleteSnow will be back stronger than ever. We all have off nights. Snow has been boxing all his life, give the man a break. The next negative comment I see on here concerning Snow, I will personally re-arrange your face. Snow is a true warrior!!! He will be back!!! Don't ask for free tickets when he is fighting Manny Pack the Owl.
ReplyDeleteASK? You probably couldn't give free tickets away for any of his fights.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if he stopped fighting part-time construction workers and dead-beat dads, he might become a true warrior...
ReplyDeleteBut if he doesn't challenge himself against decent opposition, he'll never grow as a fighter.
Let's see if he gets right back in the mix or decides he needs a stumble bum to return against... and maybe a tune up against a cardiac arrest patient before that.
But kudos for finally taking on a live opponent!!! We all love Snow but wish he coulda been more prepared.
It's the hurt business... gotta learn to handle a little hurt before being able to handle the big hurt... it's unavoidable in this sport...
He won't fight again until he gets some promoter to give him a tune up fight to get back on track. Please give us a break, join Ballard, Camacho and Rahman; form a bad boy band; do something, just go away.
ReplyDeleteyou people who are negative on Thomas and say he won't fight anybody ,just who the heck do you think he was fighting this time out. Maybe the people who say he can't fight need to lace them up with him.
ReplyDeleteI think you would get a rude awakening, real quick.
Until you are willing to do that or maybe even train somebody to fight him then you need to consider
closing your piehole.
Why do we need to close the pie hole? It's a free country ain't it?
ReplyDeleteAnybody who knows boxing knew his team was taking the "easy" way up, the "minimum risk, maximum reward" program.
But fight people also know that this program is what destroys most young prospects... they never learn to handle a tough situation...
Hopefully, by making a mockery of this mishandled and misguided career, other fabulously talented fighters will not follow the footsteps up the shortcut path to certain embarrassment and eventual oblivion.
Thomas Snow is a great guy, a talented fighter, and a gentleman. Unfortunately, choices were made regarding his career that were so obviously unsound as to border on the ridiculous.
Yeah, let's all keep the pie hole shut so everyone can keep listening to those others who offer good sounding advice but which more knowledgeable people know is totally useless.
Their are plenty of fighters that have taken the same path that Snow has taken with great success. You people are full of advice but how many fighters have you trained and how many of them are successful?
ReplyDeleteAnd the comment about more knowledgeable people, that's a crock of garbage.
Lay off of Thomas Snow unless you are ready to put more into boxing
than just your inexperienced opinion.
Not who you think I am.
I just watched the Snow fight on
ReplyDeleteTV. Snow actually won the first round and was actually winning the second. He just got caught by an extremely hard shot. It could have easly have been Teon Kennedy who got caught and the outcome reversed. One needs to see the fight to have a full understanding of what has happened. Thomas Snow truly looked good. I do hear all of the negative comments concerning the boxers he and his team choose to fight. I know of very few who have fought guys with winning records from the get go.
Even the olympic gold medal winners fight guys who are not that good. The build their records up before taking on a top notch fighter. I just hope that Snow does not listen to the negative comments and he sticks with his game plan, for he truly is a very good tough fighter and deserves better support from everyone-including myself. If you ever get a chance to really meet him and his team, you would realize just how decent they all are.
In closing, I wish Snow and his daughter that he raises by himself all the luck in the world. Trust me Snow, you need to hang in there, get right back to training and show everyone that you are for real. Yes the road ahead is going to be a hard one, but you can do it. Do it for you daughter! Tonight you will both be included in my prayers.
OSB I am guilty of saying not so nice comments. You just opened my eyes up. I too will pray for Snow and his daughter. I think there is a lot of stuff going on that I am not aware of. I apologize!!!
ReplyDeletesounds good 2 me
ReplyDeleteu r correct! snow can defenitely fight. i watched it last night.
ReplyDeletehe could have won that fight 2 with one big punch. i will support him big time on his next fight
snow you are the big winner out of this whole deal look how much neg. people have to say about you and you never did nothing to noone a winner is not one that always win, it is one that can accept defeat and look at it and grown from it. Keep on going and doing you Lonnie
ReplyDeleteEveryone is start to feel sympathy for Snow. But what ever he had done to other people are coming back to him. He is not going anywhere in this game. You guys who are the supporters of Snow, you really dont know him well. He is a coward and scammer. He takes waht ever oppurtunity to scam some money from the people. He deserves to get KO'd. He will get KO'd again and again when he fights the real fighters.
ReplyDeleteboxbible is a punk
ReplyDeleteyeah BoxBible is a biatttch go back to NY and back to being a bum azz amatuer. He act like hes a damn boxing wizard. To everyone on this site IF YOU AINT MADE IT TO THE PRO GAME YOURSELF THEN DONT BAD MOUTH OUR PRO'S & PROVIDE YOUR INPUT ON HOW WE ARE SUPPOSE TO HANDLE OUR CAREER. Fighters fight who their manager puts in front of them.
ReplyDeleteI've already had one of my fighters fight for the WBA Super Middleweight title after winning the WBC International belt in the opponent's backyard.
ReplyDeleteAnother of my fighters won the WBC International Featherweight title while a third fought fought for the Commonwealth and WBC International Super Featherweight belts on the same night in what was voted the "non-televised fight of the year" in England.
So, STFU...
Oh... and BTW... the guy who knows all the fighters who took the "safe" way up the ladder successfully... don't forget the hundreds of "future champs" who didn't make it or who got embarrassed in their first real fight...
Jaidon Codrington, Kosta Tszyu, Shannon Briggs, Emmanuel Nwodo, Joel Julio, Kendall Holt, Andy Lee, Bernard Dunne... just to glance through the rankings...
Name me your guys who took the "safety" way to the title and I bet they all had a couple of decent "opponent" types in there first.
Bottom line is if Snow don't beef up his opposition a bit, he ain't gonna make it... PERIOD! So, stop frontin' on Snow's behalf... don't deny it... just get with the program so he can become the fighter he has the potential to be... there's a reason he got caught.
I haven't seen the fight but from watching his sparring, I'll hazard a guess that he was standing too straight up while pulling out or throwing a right hook.
anon said: "Fighters fight who their manager puts in front of them."
ReplyDeleteAnd then there are others who tell their managers who to put in front of them...
uwboxbible joined my website East Side Boxing on August 6th. 2004.
ReplyDeleteI not only know his full name and address; I have 2 telephoners for him also. Here is what I am going to do. Boxbible I want you to apologize at once for all of the negative things you said concerning Mr. Thomas Snow. When you do that-I will end it there.
However, if you play hard ball with me I will be forced to tell each and everyone who reads Boxing Along The Beltway exactly who you are and will share your adress, phone numbers with all of them. I do not think it would be wise to have Mr. Snow on your bad side.
Again-apologize and it ends here tonight...
Look East bay, I was only having fun on here like everyone else. I meant no harm to him or anyone else on here. I do apologize and seriously regret that I said some pretty stupid things without knowing the entire truth. This shall never happen again. I am sorry!
ReplyDeleteI knew Boxbible was all talk and no action. Please share his numbers with all of us...
ReplyDeleteI must stick by my word. The man did openly apologize. I will monitor his comments for a few weeks.
ReplyDeletePlease Eastbay, give us his name and number. He has been saying dumb shit for over a year now.
ReplyDeleteMan, BoxBible backed off like a Beyottch! OMG! That's why I am forever Anonymous! Long live BATB baby!
ReplyDeleteplease give me boxbible telephone number. he has said some very terrible things concerning my family and friends. yes i know he has apologized and he is being extremely nice right now, but how long is that going to last???
ReplyDeleteboxbible may have said some terrible things, but he has obviously changed his attitude. let us forgive him. i think he has learned a lesson...
ReplyDeleteVery funny, someone used my name to apologize. Sorry, that wasn't me...
ReplyDeleteand the dude who claims that Eastside is his website should know that his own site don't ask for no addresses and tel numbers... just an email address...
good one though
and you have my permission to give that out any time...
Mr Thin Man... what exactly are the terrible things I said about your family and friends?
Just because I had an experince with another male when I was 16 does not make me a homosexual.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I have never once besides that night ever even held another man. I am telling you all now-I am as straight as an arrow. I am sure all of us has did things with the same sex that we regret as we have became older. Furthermore, Tommy and I have remained friends after all of these years. We actually laugh at that moment now since we gotten older. So please do not refer to me as being gay. I do appreciate such harsh words from boxers who are unable to make it in the pros.
Hope you did not think you were getting pregnant. LMFAO
ReplyDeleteTommy and Boxbible sitting in a tree-K I S S I N G !
You sure sound like a Swap Spitting Gay-Blade to me.
You guys are just jealous because both sexes are attracted to me.
ReplyDeleteI can get woman by the dozen and men by the bushel. I only date the ladies-ok. So get with the program you bunch of losers.
Dear Boxbible, do not let these bullies get you down. I too had a homosexual experiance when I was around 16. Me and the kid next door were arguing about whose ding a ling was longer. We betted a pack of sunflower seeds and a grape soda pop. Well he won the bet, but I was mad for losing so I purposely bumped dick heads with him when we were measuring. He turned out to be a full blown fag and that was my first and only homosexual dicsperiance. I called him up the other day 22 years later and asked him for a rematch and he called me a sick bastard and threaten to call the police on me if I ever called him again. I think he knew that my pipe grew a little bit and he did not want to be emmarrassed. Anyways, boxbible, keep your head up. (the one on your shoulders) you are not really gay...
ReplyDeleteI love boxing along the beltway!
ReplyDeleteBoxbible trust me my friend-u r gay. meet me at the he/she cafe in georgetown tonight. u sound like my kinda guy.
ReplyDeleteI must've really pissed off somebody...
