'Clockwork' Nichols on Atlantic City ESPN2 Card!

Woodbridge, VA super featherweight Andre "Clockwork" Nichols will be on the undercard of the ESPN2 card tomorrow night at Bally's in Atlantic City, NJ.

Nichols (3-2, two KO's) will battle Jae-Sung Lee of Seoul, South Korea (8-1-1, five KO's) in a six-round bout. No word on whether the bout will make the ESPN2 telecast. Nichols has not fought since stopping Yieta Johnson in the third round on December 15 in Dulles, VA. Lee fought to a six-round draw with Jules Blackwell on March 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Nichols weighed in at 123 3/4 while Lee tipped the scales at 123 1/2.

  2. Hey Asim,

Saw this Korean guy when he lost... he's a tough brawler but can't box worth a spit...

His head was up in the air half the time but he has a good move of rolling with the right and countering with his own right, but too slow. That's about the only schooled move I seen him do.

The guy he fought was an experienced guy with some very awkward moves which might have contributed to the Korean guy looking so awful although he was supposed to be pretty hyped back home.

Speed, boxing and side-to-side will serve Andre well against this guy... just don't get into a brawl... he's tough.

  3. Andre,
This Korean kid seemed like a good puncher but didnt throw any uppercuts against his shorter opponents last 2 times out. Maybe nobody taught him the uppercuts. He also keeps his hands very low and his chin stick up very high.

Tuck in your chin move your head and throw that left hook.
I really wish you a good luck, comeback home with a victory. Han Kim

  6. It's a possibility that the bout was a swing bout that didn't come off because of time restrictions.

  7. Sorry folks,
I thought I posted earlier but I guess it didn't go thru???
    Andre lost by tko 6.
It was pretty back and forth up to the 5th round. Andre did well when he worked behind his jab kept Lee off balance. He got into trouble when he started standing in front of Lee. Andre started catching too many right hands in the 5th and by the 6 he wasn't firing back. The ref stopped it after Lee threw a series of punches.

    Linda/Han/everybody...thanks for the good words.
