Capitol Heights, MD super middleweight Henry "Sugar Poo" Buchanan advanced through three rounds of qualifying to make it to the 10-man "Contender" Tournament.
Buchanan advanced after the second round of sparring, and will be on Buddy McGirt's Gold Team when the tournament gets underway next week. Buchanan's teammates are Jaidon Codrington, Sam Soliman, Donny McCrary and David Banks.
The Blue Team, captained by Jose "Pepe" Correa, will have Sakio Bika, Max Alexander, Brian Vera, Wayne Johnsen and Paul Smith.
Six boxers were eliminated through the qualifying -- Ruben Williams, Les Ralston, former US Olympian Roshii Wells, Miguel Hernandez, Danny Santiago and LaFarrell Bunting.

ReplyDelete3 rounds, but advanced after 2. I guess 2 is all that was needed. Wonder what specifically happened, and who he sparred. I read they were 'name' guys available. Good Job, Pooh.
